25 y.o, 6'7" SG, nice defensive skill set on the wing, total bonehead on offensive - can't dribble, drives the basket like a running back but has a decent stroke and could develop a good outside game

worth a shot on the cheap?

You answered your own question in your description of his game --- "total bonehead on offense"

Guy can shoot and shoot deep and our offense is mostly jumpshots and 3's. We should be giving guys like him a look.

We could start our own Serbian duo to match Peja and Vlade.

The NY Knicks Sasha and Darko.

It couldn't hurt to bring him to camp if he'll come without a contract. He could make the team, but not the rotation.

Absolutely interested. He's a little bit of a mystery with his inconsistent, up & down play but his game has always impressed me. Like Rookie said, he's big for a 2, he plays good defense, he can put it on the floor and he's a very good shooter. I think he's also a little better athlete than some give him credit for as well. His whole game is very diverse & right up D'Antoni's alley. I like him a lot. I think he'd play well here in this system and he might finally be able to take his game to the next level under a coach like MDA. He'd be a nice addition for us. Consider the problem at the 2 solved if we landed this guy - I'd take a chance and hand the job over to him right away. A few things though: (1) he's never really played big mins. before, (2) just looking at his career percentages from the field & at the line, he's had some years where he's really struggled where his percentages really fluctuated wildly and (3) I'm not sure he'll ever settle for a 1-yr. deal, and I think that's all Donnie would be looking to give.

How much do you think he'll be looking for? I think he just got bought out of a contract that was set to pay him $4.5 million this year. You think he'd accept a 1-yr. offer? If not, say we gave him a multi-year deal but kept the number down for next year (say in the $3 million dollar range for year 2) is that worth it for us?? And I wonder how his relationship was with LeBron - I wonder if he could help convince the King to come here when the time comes. Hey, he's not Kobe Bryant but he can play. He's a better player than Morris Almond, I can tell you that. Almond can't do the things this guy can do..

Hey that guy can play. I don't think he's gotten credit for his level of ability, but if you put him on this team and give him minutes he'll produce and he's got TOUGHNESS and BALLS.

I don't see this going anywhere with us - if we had any interest, we should've made a trade for him while he was still with Phoenix - maybe something with Nate like Nate for Pavlovic and a pick, or Nate for Pavlovic and Alando Tucker, something like that. You figure if we had any interest we would've heard something while he was officially still part of the Suns. Hey I could be wrong..

Aye Sasha can play. D league won't turnout many at his current level. He just needs a solid role and minutes IMO. I've always been surprised by how good he plays when he got a chance to play. He's physical and athletic.

Yeah I like him. I think he'd be perfect for us. Dude's got skills and a real nice Euro. drive & shoot game. I tell you what, as long as the number for next year wouldn't be too crazy, I'd go after this guy right now, even with a partial mid-level multi-year deal. If we can sign him to a deal where next year's figure is in the $2.5-3.5 million dollar range, I think he's worth going after. Either that or grab him for one year even if we had to overpay a little. Try to work it out so we have money next year for a max. FA, Darko and Pavlovic.

5 - Darko
4 - Hill
3 - LeBron/Gallinari
2 - Chandler/Pavlovic
1 - Douglas

We'd still need to tinker with that, but that's a very good young core to move forward with, with or w/o LeBron.

Good god. Does Kahn wanna corner the market on guards?

Flynn, Sessions, Brewer, Sasha, Daniels, Atkins, Ellington.......Donnie, Curry for Cardinal and Mark Blount. Get it done.

Just take out Lebron for one second--you think a team that consists of starting Darko Jordan Hill Wilson Chandler and Toney Douglas is good? Like my man Larry David says "are you f nuts". Two guys who have never played NBA basketball another who has been a collasol bust and a somewhat over hyped Chandler. Sorry but even if you add in Lebron James we sck horribly. Weve sht the bed trying to improve this team--anyone wonder why a few of us are mad at no Sessions for 3.8mm? It's when I read this quack stuff. I'm trying to hope we get rid of Jefferies and Curry--thats probably all I can ask for this year.
If they trade David Lee for the crp that has been mentioned--I will concede a top 3 pick to Utah.

What was our record in SL with Douglas and Hill starting--oh yeah 0-5 Im sure when the talent rises 250% they will meet the challenge as starters. Go watch tape of Hill against Louisville this year--when the intensity went up--he was a coward.

You said what I couldn't in about 25 posts in the other thread.
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)
