we have so many things condisive to--not winning--that we need some addition by subtraction trades. not every trade has to be a winner on face value. some trades can yield gold while looking like crp initially--i.e jermaine oneal pau gasol etc.....

i would still like the knicks to acquire rodney white. he has a lot of talent and he wants to play--unlike kvh. this is turning into a nightmare with kvh--we also dcked over KT harrington[who never played bad here] and the pg position is fcked up. im am personally very skeptical over FW. he still needs to prove a LOT and using him as the third g is best for now.

over playing dice and H2O is a recipe for disaster. dice===27-30 min MAX H2O=== 32-35 min max we have a tremendous amount of $$$$$$$$$ into H2O going forward. if he implodes, it's a DISASTER

there are needs all over the nba we have product that is needed but we should be on the look out for up and comers instead of 30 somethings i.e brent barry etc that come broken down and on the oer side of the hill.

picks ending contracts and young players. 2-1 3-2s to open room. can lampe play 10 min and score 5 points and 5 reb? i think he can!

i am open to moving sweets sometimes you have to bite the bullet--hey jerry west moved drew gooden right after drafting him. a smart man is a man willing to admit to mistakes. knick GM and management are arrogant to a fault and have 0 reason to be that way because they have been POOR.

I have never seen Rodney White play so I cannot comment on his abilities but I agree that risky trades can sometimes yield franchise players. I like you Jermaine and Pau examples but is Rodney capable of being a type of player on their level?

Also, from what I saw in the summer leagues and the comments from coaches and scouts Lampe sounds like he is for real . He will take a few years but he is supposed to be a franchise player. If there is a trade that can bring us someone good without trading Lampe and Frank I'm all for it.

The Drew Gooden trade is also a good example for your argument. Are there any places that offer information on Rodney White? Scouting reports etc.. I know the knicks tried to acquire him which is discouraging because Layden's trades have always backfired.

I have NBA TV and have watched Rodney--when he plays--for the last two years. I like him. He's got tremendous size and talent and has really grown up. I watched last year when he put up a triple double against avery good Dallas team 21 points 13 rebounds 11 assits. It seems as if any time this guy gets PT he does well. the problem in Denver is he is last man on the totem pole playing behind Carmelo who takes 40 minutes and skita.

I love Ron Murray to--he played poorly against us, but he is what we WISH Vujonic was----this kid is better than Vujonic would ever hope to be. the problem in Seattle is he is a RFA they have a lot of money tied up--he could easily become a smaller cash problem like Arenas was. this guy is going to get a full MLE at a minimum.

i would state flat out we would be much better with Murray at starting PG and White and starting SF--move KVJ to back up PF/SF
let Murray play 20 minutes at PG and back upo H2O at 2G for another 15 minutes.

almost anything is an improvement from KVH and solidifying PG position is important we need continuity

Rodney white is interesting, he has all the athletic ability, I would not mind getting him, and I agree, Lampe, sweetney and williams should be able to contribute somhow, we are creating an enviornment in which younger players are not getting a chance to grow because they are sitting behind, disgruntled, overpaid, undertalented, bench scrubs...

hoopshype:
Very good size... Has post and perimeter game... Excellent athleticism... Lacks defensive toughness... Has been a disappointment so far in the league.
NBADRAFT:
NBA Comparison: Glenn Robinson

Strengths: Versatile forward with both a post and perimeter game..... Has very good potential...... A 6-10 player with the ability to put the ball on the floor, create off the dribble, and knock down jumpshots with range.

Weaknesses: The unknown. Showed flashes of brilliance, but only over a short period of time.... Probably a future PF and with continued progress could become a very good one.
--------

bla bla bla.... the bottom line is when he plays he can really score and he's a GREAT athlete. Two things we lack is scoring and athleticism.
Look at his game log, give him minutes he always produces.

BRIGGS is dead on right though. KT isnt a wining player. Starks was benched for Houston. What did he do? He goes and wins the 6th man of the year and plays off the bench with reckless abandon. What does KT when benched for a clearly superior player? Complains the KNicks havent offered him a bigger contract.

Dump KT for Williams (Bos) and a pick.

Briggs, good post. Do you have any deals in mind that LayDown might actually do?
Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!
