All I ask for is a point guard...Carlos Arroyo is a damn good one and he needs the chains off him in the NBA so he can bring the game he displays overseas and in international play...

This duds in black are defending like NY Knicks.
So Arrojo looks like Nash-CP3 hybrid.

Im from PR so Im extremely familiar with his game. He is right now leading our team to a nice record and you can see how good he is just by seeing how the team works with him on the court and with him out. He is really a very good point guard and its unfortunate that he wasn't give a solid chance to start in the NBA. In the short time he was given priority, mainly in Utah, he was one of the main reasons they made the playoffs.

Now, he signed a 3 year deal with Maccabi Tel-Aviv and Im not sure if he has an opt out clause, but he would be a very solid option at PG for the Knicks, especially since he is really good running an offense in international play, similar to how we play now.

Very good post, Eny!

I'm half puerto rican so I got a special place in my heart for the dude. He's a puerto rican though man so you know he was carrying on with Sloan. That hot blood, lol...I believe they black ball that behavior...he's never had the opportunity to do more. I thought he played well in Detroit and Orlando...

Well yo...dude won the mvp in the Isreali Championships...not the NBA but still. You can't knock the accomplishment.

Its all about the opportunity, man. When he has had the minutes, he has delivered. He is one of those players that don't get the respect they deserve. I hope he doesn't take any Clippers offer. The Knicks would be a nice situation for him because he would be an important piece and may even start.

He is definitely a great player, should get a better chance to prove it at the NBA level.

He would be a god in NYC...aside from all that man he is a good point guard...so we are in total agreement.

Yo Knicksfan, is AD Vassallo from VA Tech playing on that PR team? Tell me that guy wouldn't be a better option than Morris Almond as another shooter... Eny, maybe you know? I know he was originally on the Bulls summer league but he never got in a game, which is nuts because that team needs a 2-guard and Vassallo is a better player than Josh Shipp. I wonder if the Bulls kinda know that he's good and purposefully held him out of SL action so no other team that may have been unfamiliar with him could get a look at him?? Hmmm?

As for Arroyo, he's good. Never understood why his game hasn't come full circle in the NBA. Remember when he kicked Marbury's ass all over the court in the Olympics a few years back?? He's got talent..

C. Arroyo is one heck of a point guard. You're right, he would be a great fit on the Knicks, but I don't know if that can happen.

Meanwhile, the Grizzles worked out Mike Taylor recently and offered him a contract. I really think we missed the boat on this guy. We should've offered this kid a contract. I can't for the life of me see why we showed no interest - this kid's young, talented, the price is right (interested to see the more than reasonable contract he gets from Memphis) and we're lite in the backcourt as is. With our needs (Duhon's probably gone after the season, as is Nate even if he does come back for the season, Douglas has no NBA experience), you take a chance on a cheap alternative with big upside like this...

Yeah Fine, he is with the team and a very important piece coming off the bench. He immediately adds great shooting along with gritty penetrations and defense. He definitely shows more emotions and tries harder with probably less talent than the slacker Almond. The guy would be nice off the bench for NY too, but if they don't even consider a potential game changer in Arroyo, they'll consider Vassallo even less.

We've missed so many boats lately that I'm losing faith quickly. Won't start bashing Walsh because his plan might work, but this offseason's inactivity, not only in the FA front but in trades and all, and the many smart, low risk-high reward some teams in a similar rebuilding situation have done, has really me less optimistic about things.

Im sure Carlos Arroyo would consider a one-year deal with NY and it definitely fits the kind of deal Walsh would look for, leaving 2010 practically intact. Yet its others who are making deals like this. I don't want starphuching nor this mega deal, but the Knicks certainly needed to try hard to improve their team for next season even if the whole picture is in 2010. But so far, the only significant thing we might do is sign our own free agents to one year deals only to lose them for nothing after the season. Great...

Arroyo brings the puerto ricans out the woodwork!

Arroyo would be great in NY, he would at the least be a solid point guard to come off the bench. Meanwhile, between The Italian Stallion and Arroyo we would have the entire Bronx covered in terms of atracting fans

True, but in reality I think Arroyo is similar to Duhon in the sense that theyre both good back ups. I really cant see Arroyo being the starting PG of the future, though I would love to see him instead of Dookie

First of, if you say both Duhon and Arroyo are similar you don't know much about Arroyo's game. Just because he hasn't been given a real chance to start doesn't mean he is just a backup like Duhon. Now, point guard of the future is unfair because he is already a veteran. He's not a Rubio or another teenager or still in his early 20's. But he still has many years of service in him and could easily step into a starting spot and keep it while producing well if the team commits to him.

Carlos arroyo can take his man off the dribble and create offense for himself and other players...Duhon can't do that. Please don't anybody post his stats...his stats don't show the real story. Damn man I can't deal with Duhon as the point guard man...I can't
