Good read.

Has anyone run this test to see if numbers were still being fudged in 2008/9: check if 10 assists, rebounds or blocks are more common than they should be according to a distribution.

Someone at those stat sights should run that test if they already haven't.

On the other hand, there would have been a strong reason to keep his rebounding stats legit, or even be less "liberal" in giving out rebounds to Lee because the Knicks' management would have anticipated that Lee would be demanding more $$ from them based primarily on his rebounding prowess...

...but on the third hand- just to argue against myself- by inflating his rebounding stats and, in essence, increasing the $$ Lee would want this summer, the Knicks may have "encouraged" Lee's agent to price him too high for the teams who may have wanted to take him at 5/6 M per year, and Walsh may therefore be able to get him for less $$ than Lee hoped to get, and also win the public relations war since Lee will be viewed in these hard times as being greedy by overpricing himself.

Good article, by the way.

You'd think they could make it so Eddy Curry can get a rebound.
lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

If assists and rebounds are the stats that most easly fudge, there is the solution to our problems right there. Get the stats guys to get Curry to 9 rbs and 3 asts a game. He will naturally throw in 17-18 pts. His turnovers will still suck but maybe the stat guys can help there too. We just need some stat-fudging for 2 good months and then we can trade him.

Or maybe make a tattoo cap for teams, like if your team has more than 100 total tattoos you pay "luxury tattoo tax" and can't sign any more free agents with tattoos.
