The Timberwolves are in need of a versatile small forward, and Rudy Gay could be a viable option.

Gay, who can become a restricted free agent next summer, might not be affordable for the Grizzlies.

The Pioneer Press writes that Ricky Rubio might be a trade chip, but there would be sizeable hoops to jump through in order to make that happen.

Gay to Wolves for rights to Rubio, then Rubio (+ matching salary players) to NY for Lee/n8/fishlips or whomever they need.

Here's to hoping we get our PG of the future.

That sounds realistic as long as the Wolves have the cap room to absorb Gay's salary. They might have to include another player.

Not sure if Memphis still wants Lee after acquiring Randolph. However, if they traded Gay, they certainly would be interested in a cheaper alternative like Chandler. We would probably need to throw in Nate to make it worth it to them.

it's the NY cast-off payment theory: can't afford own players (Pau Gasol, Gay) but love overpaid NY players (Zbo, Lee).

I don't know their roster too well. Couldn't say. Would depend on their roster needs. I am just hoping for Rubio any way possible. I think he is the missing link for MDA's system to flourish here. Next best among "available" 1's would be Sessions.

Yeah, that is why I think they might be more interested in a Chandler or Gallo, who are still on rookie deals. Chandler and Nate for Rubio is a solid deal for both teams.

Nate will give Memphis an exciting player and Chandler is about ready to blowup. He is not as gifted a scorer as Gay, but he is less of a gunner and a better defender.

Could not be much worse than in Memphis. If they got Gay, the T-Wolves would actually have a decent team. They won't make the playoffs, but they will win more games than last year. Flynn is a solid pg, which is something they lacked last year.
