lets assume you keep Lee and Nate I really cant see Hill and Douglas getting alot of time with how MDA runs things
Lee-33 minutes
Chandler 33 minutes
Gallo- 30
Duhon- 30
Harrington-30
Milcic-10
Jeffires 20 min
Nate- 26 minutes
Hill- 15 minutes
Douglas 13 minutes
I think MDA will only pay 8 guys what does everyone think

Hmm. I noticed you left out Curry. Is there a hidden message there?

One factor will be Gallo's back. If Gallo throws his back out again, one of those other guys could get some more burn.

I don't see Hill or Douglas getting much time in the rotation right at the beginning. They are rookies and MDA will bring them in slowly as they show they can perform. 15 min as you have listed would be a lot of time for them at the beginning of the year but I think they will get more time, 20+ min by the end of the year.

Also, Darko will get more than 10 min , assuming he is healthy. And Jeffries won't get 20 min. Probably Jeffries gets the 10 min and Darko 20 min.

If you assume Lee and Nate come back, which is a huge "if", then of course its hard. IMO, Douglas will have an easier way getting time since he seems to be a better distributor and a more adequate back up PG than Nate.

But either way, at some point they will get burn, but not likely heavy minutes. Though if they earn it, they may take minutes from the veterans, since the coach isn't married to any of this players.

If Lee and Nate are resigned, I doubt Hill plays much at all until January and Douglas will likely only see 2-3 minutes a game. We still need to give Gallo 30 minutes and Darko will probably play 25 minutes if he can improve his focus and effort. With Lee getting 33 minutes and Harrington also getting a few minutes at the PF spot. I don't see Hill playing much at all.

If Lee and Nate come back and Gallo is healthy, I think the team will actually see a 7-10 game improvement over last year. We finally have a real center in Darko. Chandler should be a year better. We have eliminated most of the ball-hogs from the team. So there is no reason we cannot get to 40-41 wins.

Hill is not ready to play heavy minutes and due to IT and Walsh's preference for drafting SF/PF types, we have at least 3 guys ahead of Hill at the PF spot (Jeffries, Lee, Harrington). Hill will probably get 2-5 minutes in most games, but there are not alot of minutes available for him AND I don't think he is ready to play big minutes anyway. I am far more interested in what Hill will do next year after another year of his body maturing and a full summer of working out.

I don't see them playing much at first either. They'll have a nice second half i predict. I don't think either will be making All-Star weekend for rookies or sophomores.

LOL, the season hasn't started yet and the lottery pick can't get any burn? Should we wait until the season has started to determine if this is going to hold?

They will show what they have in training camp, in preseason, and training.
And if they deserve the time more that our end-of-bench regulars they will play.
Mike will play the best players available.
We can also have some trades and injuries which can make us so short handed they will play regardless. Remember last year?
In Mikes system players are getting washed out quickly too.
So it is all in rookies hands to be ready to go.

I think this team and season is such a crapshoot it´s impossible to speculate about how many minutes those dudes will get- but I´m sure if they play well they´ll get more than a chance to make Donnie and Pringles look good.
If you are still following the team and reading sites like this, there is nothing, short of your own demise, that is going to throw you off this train.

I agree with your sentiment. Also, "the lottery pick" will get a lot of burn....and that is our last years lottery pick - Gallo....who has shown he can play and shoot, especially from behind the arc. He just has to stay healthy.

I expect Walsh is going to make at least one significant move before the season starts. So I instead of actual minutes I plan to focus on conceptual things rather than minutes played.

Darko and Curry are unknown commodities presently so if Lee comes back, there is a significant possibility he will play Center again not power forward. If not Lee at Center, Jordan Hill may manage to beat out Darko and Curry who are both considerable question marks imo. If that happens, Jordan would get quite a bit more playing time than others on this thread predict. Also the normal rules about bringing rookies along slowly, is not as applicable this year. D'Antoni is going to be eager to develop the two players that he helped hand pick to improve his team this year. I think he brings both of Toney and Jordan along a lot faster than other anticipate. Finally I think Jordon Hill plays ahead of Jeffries for whichever position they are competing for. (Jeffries lack of offense, allows other teams to double team the higher percentage Knick shooters.)

Exactly. Don't rookies on other teams get to play? Why not here?

Supposedly MDA + Donnie are into the youth movement so I think they will get time.

I suggest a revolutionary method of finding out this. Let's actually wait for the season to start and are how much they play, shall we?
