I was reading the Knicksblog and Post today and it was the same crap about the Nets have a better shot at an elite free agent because they have a better roster. Do these writers actually believe this stuff?

Do they expect us to think, for even a second, that someone like LeBron would even consider going from Cleveland to Jersey? It's absolutely preposterous.

As has been mentioned many times before, they can't even sell out Finals games there. NJ is where players go to become irrelevent. Even if the Brooklyn project was imminent, no big-time star would want to play in NJ for even a season.

I know that beat writers get bonuses for spewing Knicks hate, but they're really just making themselves look stupid and biased with this garbage. Maybe the Nets could overpay for a Ginobili or something like that. Bosh, Wade, LeBron, Dirk, Amare -- none of those guys are going there.

this is more about playing to the jay z/Lebron connection rather than nets players...they are hoping b/c bron bron is good friends w jay, a part owner of the nets, that this will convince him to join the nets....its preposterous.

The Nets really punked the Knicks in the 08 draft. Getting Lopez, Anderson and CDR was huge. I think everyone in the league knows that the Nets are a well run, professional organization. They will be in the mix just because Thorn is so sharp and they have the money.

The Nets do have a better shot than the knicks, why is everyone so stuborn. The Nets can very easily add two max free agents and have a team that could be in position to make a run deep into the playoffs. They have an all-star and a future allstar.

And Thorn might be the best gm in basketball

Thorn is the best GM in basketball. The Kidd trade was amazing especially when you consider that everyone knew Thorn was trying to trade him.

And I didn't know douglas-Roberts was that good already. Who's Anderson anyway?

I'm not saying gallo is of, but that it may take longer than 1 season to see how they pan out.

Dude iI don't see the knicks being run like crap right now at all.

The only way I see of lebron to the nets is if they are in bk.

Punked the knicks?

Guess we should compare joe smith's rookie season to kevin garnetts to decide who drafted the better player too.

If the arena was already in construction and their move to Brooklyn was imminent, they would have a strong chance. But that isn't the case and while they may have a better core of young players, that is where their offer dries up.

Thorn got CDR, Anderson and Lopez. I think two of those guys will have at least as good a career as Gallo. I don't see a big difference between Gallo and Anderson other than Anderson being a better rebounder and more physcial. I think CDR will have a big year this year. The Knicks blew the 08 draft. Gallo may turn out to be a good player but he was a risk that didn't have to be taken. There was alot of known talent available with at least as much upside when he was picked.

Yea getting Lopez was one of the biggest steals of the draft. That kid is long plays defense and can straight up play. The knicks would have been better of getting gordon/lopez/randloph and moving lee/robinson/curry together during the season. I just hope hill turns into a player and those drafted after him don't outsine him.

Gallo has to average 18 points a game in order to make that pick worth it, period.

Every yr the Nets are hyped up to be or achieve something that they fail to be or achieve.

When I see them make this happen that's when I believe they could do it. I don't think they are capable of having a 70mil payroll.

Speaking the truth doesn't making you a nets fans.

Sitting through this disgrace year after year while not making the playoffs year after year only to have your gm trade away allstars for marginal talent does. Until we show any sign of a plan, I have the right to be skeptical and bring light to moves that set the franchise back.

Being a GM isn't brain surgery.

When you have an asset like Jkidd, you can get a Devon Harris.
KMart was let go for nothing.
Vince brought back Courtney Lee and expirings.

What assets have we had to deal away for talent? Qrich? Zbo? Crawford?
lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

what I would like to know is how the Nets suck so much if they had an all-star backcourt in Harris/Vince and a purported near all-star Lopez at C?

They won 2 more games than the Knicks this past season!

Lopez will be an All-Star in two seasons.

They had very little at the 3/4 position and Boone was injured so their depth made it near impossible to win games. Would you rather have their team or ours right now? Cap room and three defined positions, two or which are the hardest in the league to fill.

The Nets got alot more than Devon Harris. Remember Kidd's age, he has already had micro fracture surgery, and he has let it be known he wanted to be moved. This is what Thorn got.

After six days of twists and turns, the Mavs dealt Devin Harris, Gana Diop, Trenton Hassell, Moe Ager, Keith Van Horn, a pair of draft picks and cash to acquire Kidd, Malik Allen and Antoine Wright from New Jersey.

Since the ghost of the jason kidd era is completely gone now I can go back to being a closet Net fan...Thorn has been so solid since he's been there.

Just to clarify, I'm a closet Net fan cuz their games used to play on channel 9 as a kid and they had alot of players I got attached to like arman gilliem, chris morris, bowie, kenny anderson, Drazen (rip), Coleman, Jayson Williams, Remeal Robinson, etc...
