The story looks so original and interesting, while looking as real as an alien film can look. Can't freaking wait to see it and make films like that in the future.

the director is from south africa and was set to direct the Halo movie.

He is the perfect storm for district 9.

Saw it today. Incredible. Loved it! Story, acting and F/X were top notch. A combination of so many cool movies -- Alien Nation, Aliens, V, Robocop....and yet unbelievably original on it's own. Every once in awhile, a sci-fi flick comes out that just blows your doors off - this is definitely one of those. It was awesome. Nyk - run, don't walk bro!!!

I dragged one of my girlfriends to this who has zero interest in Sci fi and we both absolutely loved it. We found it at times sad, funny, and thought-provoking.

i agree that it wasn't *that* amazing but it was well done...

it portrayed aliens like jews during the holocaust and humanized them. it made relationships between them and human believeable and it wasn't scifi in a geeky way.

They did have cool weapons but they were unable to use them, likely because they were some type of 'drone class' within their alien hierarchy. there were no leaders among excepting christopher johnson, who was probably a trojan horse leader who was sent to get the real scoop and set the scene, now he will come back and destroy the 'humanity', and the Wikus helped him, which is a traitor, and we will lose humanity because we let the aliens live, and now, look.
