Nate Robinson does not yet have a team for the 2009-2010 season, and even if he does return to the New York Knicks expect to see him in a new jersey number.
Robinson informed his fanbase via twitter that he will be changing from #4 to #2 next season. The jersey was the first number Robinson wore, and is also the jersey worn by Deion Sanders, who was Robinson's favorite player growing up.

Deon played only defense albeit better than anyone, but he was as much of a "me" player as there can be. I know there is no relationship between Nate wanting to play D and this. Perhaps we can get Deon to talk with Nate about that? Really, Nate could be a great defender, especially off the bench and with limited minutes, as he obviously gets taxed out there.

it should be illegal to change your jersey number, players should have the same number, if possible, for their whole career, 'cos look at what happens with all the kids that have 4 jerseys now they will cry for 2 jerseys and nate was like 10 spot on the most-sold-jersey list.

i like Nate alot and he has improved. But its a slap in face of Knicks org to my main man whom accomplished something for our team in his era in Newyork.
Outside of Walt Frazier, Ewing, Oakman, Reed and Starks perhaps LJ was a favorite among these players also.

I'm a fan of LJ and all, and the 4pointer will live in infamy, but c'mon doggy --- its not a slap in the face for Nate to rock the number 2

I don't mean to be a prick, but did you mean "live in infamy for pacer fans"?

I highly doubt Nate will shame LJ's # - which you can't really say for Starks' or Oakley's.
