Just came back from the Great British Beeer Festival. Basically real ale, all night long. Four hours of drinking stuff like, Burntwood, Roaring Meg, Northern Star Porter, Blue Monkey and Knight Porter. Even hyad a beer calld Sonof a Biatch.

Feel ill o my stomach, but some of it was real nice. Greene King IPO, is awesome, so is Old Hooky. Real apple cider is literally cats pish tho.

Maybe I should stick to Marvs fruity drinks in future.

My boy is a pub manager, so he had to go for work. Perfect opp. for the guys to go out and get seriously AF'ed. We did not dissapoint.

Anyone into Real Ale?! Any reccommendations?

As a matter of fact, I'm drinking Old Dominion Ale right now... made right here in The States and I'd say it holds up nicely to other ales made overseas

Supreme, heres a list of all the beers available at the festival. http://gbbf.camra.org.uk/beers. If you like your real ales, you gotta try some of the small independant British breweries. They have some crazy stuff.

Generaly, Im not a beer guy, im more into single malt whisky, but they had over 450 different beers there. My search for my perfect beer was short-lived, but wonderful.

I resent that!!! If you follow certain rules, you can be classified as having Allanfannned classily.

1. No retching. Even after you get home and noones watching.

2. No leaving weepy messages on your ex-girlfriends machine at 4 am (That rules Fishy out!)

3. No getting thrown out of bars for fondling the barkeeps wife/gf.

4. No - and I cannot stress this enough - listening to Chicago or Macy Gray in a booze-addled nostaglic mistery heap.

5. Not being Allanfan.

Im sure I missed some out, but thats the gist of it.

The other side of it of course is the rules of what you must do to have Allanfanned classily.

1. Woken up the next morning and not know the name of the girl lying next to you. In the case of married folk, woken up in the live-in maids room.

2. Discover you forgot to pay the tab, but at least two of your friends maxed out their credit cards.

3. Spent the night with a girl, but found some other girls number on your forehead. Nmber can also be on your butt, chest or in supreme cases of veteran classy AF's, genitalia.

4. Called your ex at 4am and explained to her that shes an evil whore who will spend the rest of her days regretting her decision and contracting all sorts of oozy diseases (that rules Fishy out!).

5. Fondled the barkeeps wife/gf WITHOUT geting thrown out.

6. Cannot remember which club you left your underwear in.

That's what I'm talking about! Martin is on a mission to make me proud! There's nothing classy about anything UK either, so if you're staying classy San Diego, you're definitely not in the Allanfan'd category!

With that said, I went out for maybe an hour last night. Got a waitresses number (Even though she has a bf, but who cares?) and had my first Irish Carbomb in decades, since I've been losing weight. It was deeeeeeeeeeeelicious. Mmmmmmmmm.
