I have been watching MSG since yesterday and I love watching these old classics. People forgot how good Starks was in 1994 and only focus on the last game. However, the Knicks would have not even gotten far without Starks.

One of my boys and I were also debating over the Al Houston shot in 1999. He feels that that shot was nothing compared to LJ's shot. I think they were both big plays.

H20's play was clutch as hell. People forget that they called a play and Spree botched it but the Knicks got the ball back with no timeouts. there was something like 5 seconds left. H20 released from the baseline and beat the Heats' excellent defense all by his lonesome. HUGE

This is what I said. However, my boy and a few others think that Houston's shot was just a shot and he did nothing in the series. It looks likes some people can not go past Allan Houston getting that big contract.

Agreed, yet people feel Houston was not clutch. My boy also feels Houston was just an average player. Yet this same guy can't stop talking about Sprewell. To top things off he got his wife in on it also saying, "Houston is no Ray Allen "or "was never a top 2 guard. "I have been debating this issues for years. l

i think houston's biggest problem with ny fans was two fold - first, he wasnt known for his defensive prowess - not that he was lazy, but just couldnt move laterally. 2nd, his $100 million and then injury was just plain bad luck. but his desire to try and get healthy and comeback like 3-4 times shows his heart and i would rather have a one legged houston who gave a damn than any of the morons on the knicks roster the past few years. NONE of them have heart. NONE. if anyone disagrees, please name one. and dont say nate, because he may have heart, but is not in the right place - he is immature and reckless, but will give enough good flashes of play where folks around here think we should sign him to a max.

Not to speak for everybody, but I think people are generally fair to Starks. They remember his warrior mentality and such and if anything people blame Riley for not making an adjustment and coming to grips with the fact that Starks just didnt have it that night. Where was Hubert Davis or Rolando Blackman?

But have to call a spade a spade and say that Starks choked. Just facts, but truthfully Starks is way more of a popular figure than Ewing is, so he made out ok.

Love ya Jim, but we dont need to start doing that. Just as it was unfair to question Houston's heart, we dont want to make the same mistake with our current guys. Im sure Lee, Gallo, Chandler...ext, have heart. Even Q had heart, he just not any good anymore. And you cant be 5'9 and play for a division one college football team and then go to the NBA without having heart. Thats the last thing I would accuse Nate of not having.

point taken - my thing with nate tho was not that i dodnt think he has heart, but doesnt use it correctly. maybe i should have replaced heart w brain? i guess i am just a throw back in the sense that i like to see players earn there $ before screaming they deserve it. ya heard?

My man Derek Harper showing us what it really means/takes to be the starting PG of the Knicks.

The NBA really needs to bring physical ball back and out with this sissy-brand ball. I am saying this as an NBA fan, NOT a Knick fan.
