Iverson, Tinsley, J-will, Sessions, Ray Felton, oh my!

Nooooobody is bidding for these dudes...at least that's what it seems...why can't the Knicks get 2 or 3 of these guys???

Iverson wants to be a starter still and he's still good enough to dominate....Sessions is a kid but an up and coming kid that is a selfless passer with good athletic ability.....J-will and Tinsley are still very servicable regardless if they been off a year.

Get Iverson @ the 2....get sessions to start a point....get either j-will or Tinsley to be the back-up point....

Playoffs playoffs playoffs....then still have a little change to get at least one free agent if the Knicks even need one next off-season.....come on I need blood!!!!

Iverson alone will put the Knicks in the playoffs.

Is Raymond Felton a free agent?

If we're going to package Duhon with one of our dump contracts, then getting AI on a 1 year rider would be something to consider, but I'd rather keep N8 if he were willing to go in for one year. Like David for the year, too.

If this was Isiah we would have Nate locked up to a max contract, Lee to something slightly under that, Jamaal Tinsley AND Iverson, AND Sessions, and we wouldn't have Gallo.

If Isiah had stayed here, and stayed on the same course, he'd have done more trades that brought in more high-salary-long-contract selfish guys and pushed the franchise even further over the cap.

On the other hand, I think if Isiah were here right now somehow in this situation, he'd sign AI.

Isiah would sign Iverson long term and say that he was such a talent that he had to sacrifice 2010 cap space. That might not be a mistake.

Just like he did in Detroit?

We are running a marathon, not a sprint, and Iverson, at best, is an immediate and short lasting stimulant for the Knicks' long race to reach respectability. The problem is that Iverson, unless lobotomized, will keep the rest of the team from performing at peak performance AS A TEAM.

if any team has enough possessions for iverson and everyone else, its

iverson would be a lock for top 5 in scoring and would probably average 7 or 8 assists, he played in a similar system in denver and was putting up like 28/8 until he got dealt to detroit. just never had any playoff success.

regardless, go with sessions gotta get the 23 yo v the 34 yo

Iverson was born to play in D'antoni's system....Iverson has always gotten his yet still found a way to average point guard assists and wasn't even the starting point. It makes too much sense. Iverson is a freak of nature. He probably is gonna play at a high level the next 3-4 seasons. Regardless...Knicks want top talent. Iverson wants to win a championship and be a key contributer. Iverson can be had cheap right now...as cheap as he'll ever be...Knicks would be stupid not to sign him and own his bird rights for 2010.

also...2010...there won't be any point guards available as good as they are this year...Sessions needs to be a Knick period. The spot has to be filled. Can't have retreads and a guy as gifted as Iverson running the point at this stage of the game.

also...let go Nate and sign a vet for a year to season Toney Douglas. Douglas and Sessions both need that veteran on the bench talking in their ears and helping them in practice.

I'm so hype right now...

2010...ok...I got a feeling Gallo and Wilson are gonna have breakout years....Harrington is not gonna all of a sudden forget how to score either....Jordan Hill is gonna steadily improve and probably do well enough to start...I got a gut feeling Darko will find his game as well....so the Knicks probably won't even need to pay anyone in 2010.

Future is now mofo's....

Jordan hill, Darko, Wilson, Harrington, Sessions, Iverson, Larry Hughes...maybe even Curry showing and proving....

why can't everything go right for a change and the Knicks shock the world the way they did in 1999???

GO KNICKS!!!

Honestly, I think we have a shot at getting TWO out of that crop..

Iverson- FULL MLE for 1 yr... and Jason Williams, we have exclusive negotiating rights. Give him the LLE 2.9 and its a done deal. I don't know how they would play together though... Thats the question? Two ball dominating guards, one a chucker from three... and one just simply put " a chucker". It would be fun to watch though lmao

They gotta buy into the system kid...d'antoni is gonna want j-will (if he's the pg) to dominate the ball cuz he's a pass firts point guard...Iverson will be getting easy shots...off screens, backdoor, wide open threes...and on top of that Iverson will be encouraged to take the shot whenever he feel he can get one off...yet also be a willing passer too....its a match made in heaven if they buy in.

I agree, they'd have to buy into the system. However, I am uncertain as to the LEVEL of success in which can be achieved! Both Jason Williams and Allen Iverson need the ball to have any chance of reviving their careers. Could it work??? Sure if, Williams defers to Iverson!

YES, thats more probable IMO... Allen Iverson has to create his own shot in order to TRULY be effective! A.I. is not as efficient at shooting off screens, He can spot up w/ the 3pt shot.. but didn't seemingly hit at a high clip from beyond the arc. I think A.I. has to dominate the ball on possessions and collapse defenses from penetration, he has a pull up J off the dribble which he uses largely at this point in his career...

THE CONFLICT is which Jason Williams would we be getting. If his game is anywhere near the level of his Sacramento days, dribble dribble highlight pass.. or dribble dribble pull up 3 then the Jason Williams and Allen Iverson pairing may be doomed from the start. He would be a highlight film waiting to happen, but could ultimately kill the flow of this offense as well. On the flipside, if he makes the right play, he could be a real steal for NYK.

Honestly, the only question is whether you think Sessions has the potential to be a starting caliber pg for a championship team. If you do, then I don't see any reason not to make him our #1 target. If you don't, then the Knicks need to move on to AI or Tinsley.

If Walsh would have just given Sessions an offer sheet 7 days ago, we would have this situation resolved by now. Isiah was too impulsive and I am starting to think that Walsh is too patient. If we would have trade nate and Jeffries for Kenny Thomas, we would be in a much better situation this summer.

I think J-will wouldn't have a problem defering cuz he's never been a high volume scorer. In Miami, damn did he dumb it down. Riley had him sleep walking and it was a rare treat when he busted out some fancy ball handling or a no look pass....also keep in mind that J-will played with D-Wade the master of ball dominators.

I think Iverson and J-will will have a field day with the amount of finishers surrounding them...Harrington, Jordan Hill, Gallo, Wilson, Hughes....that's some serious perimeter talent....also Darko and Curry man. I seriously believe both guys will be trying to prove something.

I understand J-will's body is probably ****ed but the Knicks could still sign and trade for Sessions possibly. We'll see man....but like the title thread says....I'm stressing out!!!

J-Will's body IS shot, it's all over for him at the NBA level.

Curry isn't going to do anything but prove that he stinks it up.

But yea,we have a lot of finishes, a lot of good talent. No reason to stress, I think we're in for an AWESOME SEASON

So its Iverson's fault Detroit didn't make the playoffs? Nevermind the fact that Wallace quit on the team. Never mind Prince was hurt. Never mind that Hamilton was jerked around by an inept coach. Nevermind that Stuckey is overrated.

Also you speak of a sprint vs a marathon. Iverson would be signed for 1 yr which would equal a sprint and in no way would his contract interrupt our Marathon aspirations going into '10 and beyond.
