i like what chaney said. we lost but we competed. what the hell is that? competed? an "L" is an "L". it does not matter if you lost by one or 30, it is another in the loss column. enough of these moral victories. if they were coached better they should have won. i used to defend chaney. i can't anymore. they are all so lethargic and ho hum about losses, even the frigging coach. last year, you can say there were " moral victories" because we were so undermanned. now, like larry brown said, there are no excuses. chaney need to go into practice and rip some heads off.

You are absolutely right. In fact, Chaney needs his head ripped off. He has that "oh, well" attitude for two reasons:

  • He has a history of losing. He's able to be calm in the midst of consistency

  • Dolan and LayDown are supposed to be so much in his corner. He's had 0% results and 100% excuses for everything that's happened since he's been coach. His job isn't at risk. Remember he got us to the LOTTERY and was rewarded with an extension!!

I am glad you no longer defend Chaney. He doesn't give a damn about his rep or his part in messing this team up. Why should you?
Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

THat mentality is that of a loser. I have never heard JVG or RIley say that ever! They would not allow it. They understand that winning is the important thing. It is a shame but that is the mentality of the organization now. From Dolan down. The Rangers have it too (but they also have a coach with a proven track record who might make a difference yet).

What a shame.

Yeah I am whining, go ahead say it Nydal1. The facts prove us right, don't they.

7-15..translates to 26-56. I guess, Chaney will get another extensiong for this year too. This team has too much talent to be 26-56. HOuston, DICE, DEKE, KT and KVH is 26 wins! In a weak Eastern Conference! Me thinks its the coaching.

Count me as another former Chaney defender. A quarter of the way through the season and he still doesn't know who he wants to play. Since Dice came back he's got Doleac on the bench and he's playing Spoon and Harrington more. I thought Doleac was playing well?!? Why bench him?

He does have a poorly contructed team without a real starting point guard, but he's got some pretty good players. I believe that a good coach would have motivated these guys to a few more wins - maybe had this team at .500.

I'm not upset the Knicks lost to the Lakers -- nobody expects them to beat them. But many of these other games were winable.

Hardcore.....many are beginning to see the light!

So sad isnt it? Chaney is a bum...a nice guy but a bum as a coach. I love your line about his mindset and being ok with consistent losing.
