I'm curious to know how many of us are really concern about making the playoffs this year as a must.

I'm also curious to wonder how serious walsh/mda are about making the playoffs this coming season.

Despite no considerable change in our roster thus far- although its safe to say sessions or A I will be an additions- and I don't see any other deals in sight- also taking into consideration We lost some games do to fatigue, and the drastic player movemnt, chemistry, and al hanging on the rim.

Is curry's dedication, multiple players in a contract year, a couple of players playing for a new knick contracts, and a void in the middle finally being filled, good enough for 13 more wins.

Should we even care about this year.

I think the Knicks have to do their best to make the playoffs and have a decent showing as well. It's going to be harder to attract a big-name free agent if we have another 30-something win season

I said this in another thread... I think that Cle, Bos, Orl and ATL are shoe ins. Every other team in the East has issues galore and if a few things go right for us we are right in that pack.

how are the Wizards not a shoe in? They have one of the deepest teams in the league and one of the better coaches.

It'll be tough... but not totally out the realgm of possibility, IMO.

I've got "7 teams" that are just flat out better on paper. Of course we all know that seemingly very often, paper champions are just that!

With that in mind, here are my 7 locks for a playoff berth next season:

Cle, Bos, Orl, Tor, Atl, Chi, Wash.

That leaves: Mia, Char, Det, NYK, Ind, Phil, NJ.. all vying for the 8th spot??

The Playoffs may be a tough goal to achieve for next year.

well I think they won close to 50 last year no? The have a balanced line up.
PG Bibby
SG JJ
SF Marvin
PF Josh Smith
C Horford
bench: Jamal, Flip Murray (he's back right?), Zaza, Mo Evans..

Thye play good BB. They have a strong bench with a lot of size and firepower. Do they have a weakness? I dont really see it. I just dont think they are as good as Bos/Cle/Orl who are loaded but ATL def ahead of the rest.

every year, some teams overachieve, some underachieve. after those top 3, the rest is up for debate.

I LIKE ATLANTA.. but they are a classic case of another structurally flawed team- to quote the great Jeff Van Gundy lol. Horford is a PF not a center, Smith would be better served as a SF. Zaza Pachulia shows flashes but can't start... They need a center in the worst way! There perimeter game is strong though.... lack of a TRUE CENTER would be their one glaring weakness IMO

then why did they win like 10 games last year? Jamison is a stat guy. Butler is great.. love him. After that? I guess we are sure Hibatchi comes back and drops 30 a night? the McGee and Blatch are now studs after proving so in the summer league?

I could see them having a bounce back season and playing well... sure. But how good was that? They are a .500 team when they had their big 3 happy and healthy. They dont have depth. They have a lot of players with potential that havent produced

Mike Miller is good. Never been a believer in Foye, at all.

Lets face it.. if Hibatchi is healthy they make it. If he's not they flounder. He played 3 games last year. He played 13 the year before. He's a guy that does it with hops so thats a problem. Their next 3 best players are all SFs in Butler, Miller and Jamison. Sure, you can put Miller at SG and Jamison at PF but not the best fits. Their bigs are very very young except Haywood who is also broken down.

Not a buyer.

Of course if MDA had the team they would win 60 because he loves playing 4 SFs at once.

haywood has played 79,77, and 80 games the 3 years prior to last year but he is breaking down. Jesus Christ.

they've played Jamison at pf since they acquired him.

if you're bringing foye and miller off your bench behind Arenas and Butler then you're in pretty good shape as a team.

yes.. and they were a .500 team when Haywood was healthy. Jamison is a PF like Harrington is PF. He plays away from the basket.

Eddy Curry played 60, 81 and 72 games prior to last year so we can expect him to come back and give us 25 minutes, 14 points, 5 rebs and shoot 55% right? Same thing right?

Sorry if I'm not impressed by anything about that team.

What about Jesus Christ? Is he the coach?

yeah, i'm not sold on washington at all. let's not discount the fact that the rest of the wizards don't seem to enjoy playing with arenas very much and arenas hasn't been right in a long time. jamison is getting up there in age, too. they do have mcgee, butler, miller though, so i think they are ahead of us even if we get sessions. we definitely are ahead of milwaukee and charlotte after the okafor trade. i don't know about anyone else. we could be ahead of philly and new jersey, but maybe not. it's going to be a dog fight at the bottom of the east.

when Haywood balloons up to 365lbs you'll have a point.

they were a 5-6 seed when they had everybody healthy and no bench. Now they have everbody back and they have ton of depth.

Now if they could only get their hands on Kyle Lowry

^^^ agreed. I'm not even saying the Knicks are clearly better those that pack. They arent.

I think Chandler has big time potential and will be another Danny Granger
I think Gallo has big time potential and will be a good player.
I think Eddy Curry comes back and gives us something. Not like that one good year, but closer to his typical 25 minutes, 14 points, 5 rebs and 55%
I think Douglas is a good bench guy and can play right away.
I think Nate, Lee and Harrington all want to stay here and are going to play like they want to stay here.

Now, those are all nice things and none of them have happened yet. I think all those teams in the East aside from the Cle/Bos/Atl/Orl group have their own list like mine of things that can go right and push them up.

Time will tell... all I know is we have MDA and thats better than Avery. So we have that gonig for us. Which is nice.

Curry has always been 330 plus. Whoop de doo.

Haywood sucks. Plain and simple. Thats the guy thats propelling them back to the mediority they once achieved in recent years? Awesome
