There has been a lot of talk about the Knicks need for a new point guard - which I don't disagree with but by itself it won't fix the turnover problem.

The knicks got bigger this year but they have now got below average ball handlers at every position:

Mutumbo - I like the guy but he has no passing or handling skills and hands that would make Roberto Duran proud.

KT - Probably better then average handling skills for a Center - but less then average for a PF.

Keith - Historically not terrible for a PF, less then average for a SF and this year has been coughing it up way too much.

Houston - Nice shooter - but loses the ball a lot when he tries to create.

Bench players Anderson, Weatherspoon, Doleac, Othello - combined don't have two good hands.

Add to that Chaney's propensity for changing the rotation every game and you have a host of problems leading to a ton of turnovers and losses.

Good post, OldFan. We need better ballhandlers and passers on this team, and the simple addition of a PG will NOT resolve the issue.
Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

It wont resolve the issue but it will help it tremendously. We have to play Houston, Keith and Mutombo because its not like they can be benched to avoid turn-overs.

An addition of a good PG might be a good move. If the scorers get the ball wheere they like it, turnovers can be reduced. There is no pefect solution to the turnovers problem but adding a PG or letting Frank play more minutes and gain some more expirience will help. It definately cannot hurt us at this stage!

If we could get a Jason Kidd it would help a lot. I don't think a VE would help much as far as T0s and I don't even think we can land someone as good as him.

As far as F. Williams - I like his potential but he is right now our third best point guard. I'm not against playing him more - but I'm not convinced he'll make a difference (I hope I'm wrong).

The only thing I can see helping with our current lineup is a set rotation and more experience playing together.

There ain't no skirt here, K9. Maybe your leash is a lil' too tight.

Anyway, we need someone in the frontcourt who is able to handle and pass the ball. We need players in both the back and front line to have consistent ball movement and less TO's.
