Fair deal. The Hawks are going to be a problem for a while. All they need is a allstar caliber low post player

Are they still interested in Eddy Curry?

They're committed to salary and therefore committed to trying to pick up anyone they can before other teams start dipping into that 2010 pool of goodness.

I can see what they are doing. They're having a go at it. It will fall short though. Yet, we can't all be finals contenders and some franchises know that the best thing to do if you're not? Be as good as you can be, make the playoffs, make some excitement, and sell those tickets and gear.

That is what Atlanta is doing but I got to say they're doing it right - I'm interested.

Knicks got better things on their mind and are in a much better position to forget about 2009 (unless something comes along you just can't pass up) and focus on 2010 and beyond.

Well he's good and all but he was never a Knicks target, so then we're ok on this one.

That's a big contract without any competition.

I was thinking Walsh should have made an offer a while back, but I can see why he didn't
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

he was the #2 pick so his qualifying offer was something like $7 mil so it's basically a 5 year deal starting at that price. again, some teams give out contracts based on past performances but some gm's give out deals based on potential. it's a gamble, as is all contracts but if you like the guy, feel he can get better, then you sign him to keep him. the dlee situation is unique and kind of f'ed up. he's played better than marvin too.

Well, it was not the worst signing this off-season. Given his age, 5 yr/$40 mill is about right (maybe 5yr/$35 million would have more accurately reflected his value). Williams can play, though I would have resigned Childress for 5yr/$30 mill and let Williams walk.
