Seriously, we've chased Jason Kidd (36), Grant Hill (37), Andre Miller (31) and now we're pining over a backup from a team that's been worse than us the last five years (Sessions).

Allen Iverson is 34, a supreme ball player, has played PG a lot in the last few years and no one in the league wants him. Does he look for his own shot too often? Probably. But so do Nate and Al Harrington. The difference is that Iverson is good at it.

Allen Iverson is available and if we want to make the playoffs next season, he's our best bet. Also, we have a gaping hole at SG.

Call him and offer him a one year deal at max MLE and say, if it works out we'll bring you back to help whatever max guy we get, if it doesn't, at least you've pumped up your stats.

His numbers his last full season in Denver before Detroit yanked him around last year? 26.8ppg, 7.2apg,3rpg, 2spg, 46%fg, 35%3pfg, 81%ft

This guy is a warrior who would excel here. Just saying.

Allen Iverson is not a team player and would kill the offense. He will not become a playmaker now at this point in his career. He wants a clearout for him and he's just not the same player to deserve that status. He's no longer a superstar and wasn't an All Star last year either, even though he was voted in by fans. Let's not forget that this guy has a crap attitude as well. We were targeting the others because of their leadership quality. Allen "You Talkin' About Practice" Iverson is the not the veteran we want for this team.

There is a reason nobody has signed Iverson yet, even the ultra of crap teams line the Clippers or Grizzlies.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

i don't understand it. this guy is not marbury, yet he's being treated like him.

this guy is a major major talent and he'd have a lot to prove here.

and, say iverson rehabilitates his image - what's a better ad to attract a star here in 2010 than all the coverage a reinvigorated iverson would get? he'd be plastered on ESPN nightly if he returned to his 25ppg form.

Sign him for 1yr 6 mill. THey had mentioned this on espn radio a couple wks back. Espn thinks Dolan has something to do with not bringing Allen Iverson over to the knicks.

HEy Iverson is still one of the greatest guard to play this game and he 's got heart. Playing for the knicks, i feel he can bring back that swagger to the team..

The media had everybody convinced he was toxic when he was doing well. The NBA was just looking for an excuse to blackball him. Combine the fact that Denver rose without him, while Detroit sunk with him and that was all GMs needed. Stern probably looks at A.I as a big reason for the post-Jordan, dip.

A.I going to sign with some desperate team looking for an attendance boost. *looks at Memphis*

You guys still don't get it! The Knicks ain't signing anyone. They are looking for that Hail Mary hope of getting a superstar. Well when the Knicks are serious or at least putting a desent team on the floor. I ain't payin my money going to home games.

Yeah, because Allen Iverson is the answer. (Actually he is, by nickname, but he really isn't)

this season is a throwaway and I'm starting to change my min on AI. I may actually get to the Garden if he's on the team. He makes absolutely no long term sense but this team is gonna suck next year and AI can probably get 28 (and give up 27) a game. Why not... **** it

pretty sure Nate is better than AI at this point and he actually can distribute if half the team isn't injured
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

Signing Iverson would be an indication we have no intention of developing our younger players. He plays hard but he is a selfish player who showed his true value (or lack of...)last season when the team he left got better, and the team he came to got worse.

I would rather have Gallo, Douglas, Hill, Chandler, and hopefully Sessions, getting their shots instead of Iverson.

One thing to consider is that Douglas will lose playing time if Iverson is added to the Knicks' roster.

How could he lose something he never had?

So will Larry Hughes. Iverson is faaaaar better than both of them. Also, consider that D'Antoni doesn't like playing rookies all that much.

I don't know - is next season about trying to develop the kids or is it about trying to attract free agents? Since we have cap room and not a draft pick, I'd say it's about trying to attract free agents. If Iverson comes here and puts up numbers and looks happy and the team is improved, isn't that as good an ad for a superstar as we can make?

Lebron is excited about playing with 37 yr old Shaq this season. Iverson has way more left in the tank than Shaq.

Douglas "should have" playing time. Maybe not a lot of time, especially at the start of the season, but we have to allow him to develop. And he has shown he is capable.

Iverson - He has not shown that he leads his team to be a winner. I don't think he brings in any top FA - do they really want to play with him?? Also, we would only want to sign him for 1 year. Then he'll be gone so what does his one yr do for us?? Nothing.

Miami started Mario Chalmers at PG, an early second round draft pick, and he did fine. If we bring back Nate, I'm fine with Douglas being the 4th guard - behind Duhon (or Sessions?), Hughes, and Nate, with Chandler also getting some time at the 2. Maybe Morris Almond or another SG added to come off the bench.

Not sure that Iverson on the Knicks will be the best of lures for free agents looking over the roster of a team they may want to sign with. Just a feeling about that one.

I have always been a huge Iverson fan, and I think he is the best little man to play the game. That being said I dont think he fills a need here. We have a lot of scorers. I think the focus should be on a facilitator and a defender. Is he going to play PG for us? Is he a better scorer than Nate right now?
