Damn, Bender wants to go to the well once again and get another payday out of Walsh.

Bender doenst have anything to offer. If anything, him coming back will just remind Walsh of what a horrible pick that was, thus making him feel even that much more insecure. Insecurity leads to fatigue and being tired. We dont need that.

Why cant the media just leave the Knicks alone. What source or reliable info do they have that proves the Knicks are a possibilty. Donnie Walsh? Bender is a bum. Go to the D League and if you cant outplay Courtney Sims or Saer Sene then dont waste your time trying to make a comeback.

Lets be real...the kid had to retire cuz of injuries. He was coming into his own before his knees started to fail him. It was sad...

Now don't spin it like he needs another payday and Donnie is the fool who will give it to him. That's bull****.

Now Al Harrington has said that Donnie is like a father figure to him...Bender came in with Harrington. Maybe Bender feels the same way. Maybe Al Harrington is one of the dudes telling Bender to try again.

Another point....Bender retired due to medical....He's looking at a minimum deal period. The nba has a D-league now and that could be an option.

Btw, gotta say I was shocked to see his name in realgm wiretap

look, i was very sadden when he had to retire because he showed flashes of brilliance. but he has been out for years and entering his peak years with a big chunk of his development years gone. so pretty much you get what you see. i would invite him for camp and see. but a guarantee contract, no.

Bender never averaged more than 8 pts a game in the league. Thats a straight bust, point blank. Dont know whatchu trying to sell here, brah with this "coming into his own" talk.

I'm not trying to sell anything. I'm just not gonna talk like Marc Berman/vecsey just because Bender is mentioned trying to make a comeback and ESPN throws the Knicks name into the fire.

Haven't heard that name in a long time. He should have thought of it earlier in the summer and try out in a summer league team like everybody else. Somehow I think his knees are not going to take it well even now.
Knicks are happening and have a Unicorn.

I was just messin around with all the insecurity stuff, because I dont believe this rumor for a second but Bender injuries or not, Bender does suck.

And if you're going to bring it to my chest like that, then you should expect for me to say something back. For you to try to start something and then say "young and the restless" is a little weak. Trying to start drama then putting it on the other person is a little too female, dog.

Walsh isnt putting any money in any of our pockets, so there is no need to get all defensive.

Yo man I'm not gonna internet argue with dude. Only thing I see in the convo is one person spinned it like Bender was being desperate and Donnie is gonna be a dumb ass and pay him....I countered with the more logical notion that he'd want to try and play for Donnie again with his boy Harrington.

Bender can wheel himself right on over to the Nets if he wants.

We're not a charity case here.

Shame for Bender - he was going to be a very good player before he got hurt.

Why does he want to attempt a comeback? Probably broke that's why. Let someone else buy him a new wheelchair. We have other things to worry about.

Sometimes you get lucky when you take a chance. They'd have to work him out to see if he is healthy and look at the xrays of his knees, but if after doing these things, they like him, a one year vet min salary can't hurt. Sometimes it makes sense to play a long shot.

Actually, according to the article, he cannot be considered a "bum":

The dude explained the reason he's doing it. He said he doesn't wanna hit 40 and wish he had tried one last time while he was in the prime years of his life....why spin it that he's looking to get a fancy record player?

I think he shoulda tried to do that in summer league...now he has to get a workout and an unearned invite to training camp...

Skeeter, Joe Crawford and Morris Almond deserve a shot more than Bender would....but inviting him to training camp is not a stretch. He can go in and compete. Skeeter and Bender are very similiar skillsets.

We are talking invites though....Donnie is not just gonna sign Bender outwright unless its a one year league minimum...he'd have to seriously earn it though....its extreamly hard to believe that he would even be in shape to play pro ball after all these years.
