Steph is 20x better then tinsley, came to camp in unbelievable shape and look shell shock his 1st 3months on the court.

Why on earth would tinsley be a benifit at 33 on a run and gun team, were the pg needs to be the most in shape player on the floor.

Also if Walsh sent this guy home for reasons we don't know and refuse to buy him out for over a year, and he has serious character issues, why should the knicks be remotley interested.

Am I missing something here ??
I don't see any logic
In even loking in his direcrtion.

I agree for the most part about Tinsley. I dunno, he's been a fascination around here for a long time, so I think people want to see him in a Knick jersey just because.

Tinsley is terrible.

Anyone who would want to watch Tinsley over wanting to watch Douglas try to make a name for himself needs to be taken to the woodshed and offered up to John Amechie.

If the choice is Tinsley over Sessions because of cap considerations, then I just don't know because that is a move that is costing us potential young talent in consideration for something that might never come to pass.

But hey, maybe Duhon needs a wing man for his late nights out.

I'm perfectly fine with Tinsley if its on a very reasonable 1 or 2 year deal.

The guy is very creative with the ball and would be outstanding at creating shots for our shooters.

He has been out of action a long time so that is somewhat of a concern but at the same time - his body is likely very healthy right now and he just needs to get in basketball shape.

A Tinsley / Duhon combo at the point position is NOT bad and it would also give Tony Douglas some time to get his feet wet in the NBA rather than be thrown to the wolves right out of the gate. This would also allow us to move Duhon at the trade deadline if a good deal pops up and move Douglas to the back up point.

I've always been a big Tinsley fan - when in shape I think he's one of the most creative points in the game.

I have to say this is absurd. Tinsely sucks and hasn't played in two years, is a lock room destroyer and chemistry killer. Sign Sessions lock up an asset.

Use Nate/Jefferies as a package together during the season. Lebron looks to be stayin in Cleveland. So right now Wade is our only option and I wouldn't leave Miami for New York if you paid me. No income tax, better weather, women, and less pressure. Bosh isn't good enough to make this team all that relevant which really leaves Amare who maybe traded in season if the Suns know what they are doing.

I actually like the idea of Sessions, Chandler, Harrington, Gallo, Lee. Is that a great lineup, no but you have three scorers, a distributor and rebounder with a bunch of Duhon, Nate, Curry, Jefferies, Hill. Which is good enough to play uptempp and keep everyone fresh. You make a trade half way through the season and you can still clear some cap room.

rumor is that walsh has contacted the agents of dale davis and rik smits...and is bringing in mullin to be the SF, not the rumored assistant gm spot.

reggie's shooting would be pretty sweet in this system.

LOL seriously. Didn't we dump Isiah to get away from the hometown frat boy atmosphere? Isiah tried to bring everyone that ever even read about Chicago into the fold. That worked well.

Now we got the rumors stating Walsh is trying to reconstruct the 1989 Pacers LOL.

The media is just out of ideas and thus out of hand when it comes to the Knicks.

Tinsley? Bender? WHY!? To be what? Cheerleaders? GTFOuttahere with this nonsense.

Again, are you losing sight of the actual plan? There is no reason at all the go all out THIS offseason. None. It's a foregone conclusion that the 09/10 season will be lackluster.

There's a reason why we don't care: We're planning for the future.

Do you want to mortgage our 50M expirings, all our kids, and all available picks for Boozer, Brand, Chandler, etc? To do what? End up a cap strapped mess of a team with long term contracts that at best could maybe sneak into the playoffs the next few years?

WHY!?

Step back from the ledge and understand the process. It takes time to tear down the mistakes of the past. We're really just a little beyond half way done doing so. It will take another year to finish that up. Then we build our new team.

The panic over the 2009 offseason is baffling to me. Who cares what the team looks like this season!? I care what the team looks like in 2010/2011 and more importantly 2011/2012 - when if Donnie's plan works, we should look DAMN good.

You are right - up to a point. We shouldn't sacrifice 2010 for 2009. Agreed.

What I think Donnie is doing is trying to make 2009 more exciting by bringing in a veteran for 1 year who can help the team in 2009. The key has been a 1 year deal and except for Grant Hill, that has been what Donnie has offered. A 1 year deal helps us in 2009 but doesn't destroy 2010. So I'm fine with what he is doing. And all of the newspaper stories....well the reporters also have families to feed so they need to do something in the off-season to earn their paycheck.

Comsic How is tinsley even as a rental relevant in anything remotely close to were doing..

And please kill it with this wait til 2k10/11 crap..I'm not saying deviate from the plan, but gain some assets to also give you SnT flexibilty, some talented players that will make sense. The way were currently constructed thus would the last place I would sign.

So next year when we end up signing Kapono, mike miller,
and these 2nd and 3rd tier fa we can start getting excited about a 40 win team

No harm in talking to a guy. Walsh has a relationship with the guy and he's doing his due diligence. We'll see how it goes. I would not like Tinsley anywhere near this team. We need to get away from the bad influence, "give me a second chance" options that we lived on under Isiah.
I just hope that people will like me

Maybe Walsh is using Tinsley and showing his interest in him to make MIL lower price of Sessions

now I can deal with this arguement...

IMHO as i stated in other threads...Tinsley does not suck. He's better than Duhon by far as far as creativity, court vision, and ability to run an offense.

Anybody assuming Tinsley is gonna get a 4yr 20 mill deal is a Ratard. Donnie is only gonna talk 1 year deal with Tinsley. It's due diligence like Bip said.

as far as Toney Douglas...are we trying to lose every game this season? I belive in the kids game but he is a rookie learning the point position. I'd like to see him too but not just because he's there...he has to earn his spot.
