Never heard of so many athletes getting murdered in such a short time like this. Forrest's upset over Moseley was a shocker, but he made it count by winning the rematch. RIP to another fighter

This is really sad..

Forrest was shot seven or eight times -- at least once in the head -- as he chased at least two men who had tried to steal his Jaguar as he put air in its tires at an Atlanta gas station.

I don't understand these guys that shoot you 7 or 8 eight times if they're stealing your car.

Won't one shot in the leg do the same thing-- that is, let you get away with the car? Inefficient thievery.

agreed, a guy doesnt normally get shot 7 or 8 times on a carjack. something else going on here. sport of boxing has lots of corruption, who knows what really happened.

This has been a horrible summer.

RIP Vernon. He did a lot of great work for the disadvantaged. What a tragedy.

Yeah, something like that. Adrenaline in overdrive. Remember his girlfriend and young son were in the car at the time. Perhaps he felt as if he had to protect them or something to that effect. Unfortunately the young child witnessed the murder.

As the story goes, a group of men surrounded him and one of the cats took his wallet. He scuffled with the dude that took his wallet in an attempt to retrieve it, and as they were fighting on the ground he was shot a total of six times. A couple of times in the back and once in the back of the head.

Was obviously a bad decision to fight rather than flee. A horrible tragedy nonetheless.
