Could Carlos Boozer end up in a New York Knicks uniform?

A scenario is reportedly being considered by the Knicks in which the team would sign restricted free-agent forward David Lee and then send him off to the Utah Jazz in exchange for Boozer, according to a story published by Newsday.

Lee acknowledged feeling frustrated by the fact he remains unsigned by New York so deep into the free agency period.

"With the four years of hard work I've put in, I'm just frustrated this thing hasn't gotten done yet with the Knicks," Lee told Newsday. "It's been frustrating enough that it has caused us now to kind of look at other options."

The Knicks have not made offers to either Lee or their other restricted free agent, Nate Robinson, so far this summer.

A potential trade for Lee could cause an interesting conundrum for the Jazz, since both he and Paul Millsap play the same position and have comparable statistics. But such a move would undoubtedly prove to be popular with the team's fan base — given Lee's reputation for solid defense and hustle play.

Lee led the NBA with 62 double-doubles last season and averaged a career-high 16.0 points and 11.7 rebounds for New York.

Add in Jeffries and we got a deal.

Lee and solid defense in the same sentence? If they wanna believe that, fine.

Unless Lee is willing to accept $8 mill a year, how could Utah afford him. The only reason they are trading Boozer is due to salary. Utah is not paying Lee $10 mill a year when they just committed to Milsap. This rumor is bogus.

He's BYC so in a sign and trade he's worth half his value - and - they still have about 2M in cap space.

For Lee to get 10M? The Knicks only need to take back 3M in salary from the Jazz (10M / 2 = 5M - 2M = 3M)....and that can even be the well known 3M Cash payment (if it really came to that, which it won't, just illustrating here.)

It would put Utah 5M or so over the cap but I don't think into the lux tax.

An S&T can be done but to OUR benefit? I don't think so.

He writes 1 or 2 random sentences about how great Lee is, how ungrateful we are, how we will win 25 games without him and how he is worth the money he's asking for, never responds to any counter-argument to his post and then leaves and re-starts the process all over again every day.

I think Utah or San Antonio will be great place for Lee to improve himself as bbal player.
No distractions and style of bbal and management will help him a lot.
I am not sure why he is so upset that Knicks are not crazy about sign contract with him.
He can end up in much better environment elsewhere and get more appreciation from the fans.
There are NO players that are good for Knicks fans regardless...

It's simple. Lee isn't a franchise player and on a bad team he's being tasked to be a franchise player. He is truly a backup role player and on a good team he'd be just that.
