Good article over at Insider about the Utah team and their coach.

I think this sums it up:

"I think Jerry's been doing this for years," another GM said. "Matt Harpring, Shandon Anderson, Howard Eisley, Donyell Marshall and Bryon Russell did things in Utah that they couldn't do anything else. There's a pattern there of Jerry maximizing a guys talent and putting him into situations where he can be successful."

Chaney has got to be the ANTI-SLOAN of the league.

I'm being real serious. The knicks have got one of the top squads in the East, period. With Dyess on the road to full recovery, it should be the top, or top 3 squads in the East.

Look at our players. If these guys were on any other team they'd be hot...

KT - would come off the bench and wreck people, and be an enforcer somewhere

Houston - would do pick and rolls with a true big man, or the coach would have his defender run through screen and get houston a lot of open looks, and make houston drive and dunk some. a good coach would also make houston post up some - houston has size at the 2, and the build to post up and the hops to dunk - he should diversify his game. yes, houston shoots well, but mix it up. get to the line a bit

Eisley and Ward - they wouldn't be allowed to bring their weak games to the court. They'd either have to improve or be made to improve by giving them some incentives... like suicides for each trey missed in a game, and 100 three point practice shots for each in game turnover... that will make them want to take care of the ball better

Weatherspoon and Harrington - a real coach would not let these guys REMAIN out of shape. this is disgraceful. These guys should be contributing, and if not, at least ready to contribute

Williams would be developing faster under another coach's watch... What Sloan is doing in Utah, with Carlos Arroyo and company makes me think he's the best, or second best coach in the NBA. What he's doing with those ballers makes Riley look REALLY bad. You're telling me you can't make the playoffs in the East with Brian Grant, Eddie Jones, Caron and Rasual Butler? You've got to be kidding me.
