Yeah Hill looks so so, but this year looks a lot different than it has in the past.

In previous years we had essentially Nate and all perimeter players spreading the floor and one guy in the middle. It was easy for everyone to operate.

This year it seems like everyone is in eachother's pockets. There is no spacing. Almond is trying to prove he can drive it. Skita wants to show he can rebound. Carter's in there... etc.

I believe that Hill will look a lot better when he's got ten feet between him and the nearest player with Al Jr, Gallo, Chandler and Duhon camped on the perimeter.

I don't think that this Summer League has been very useful in anticipating what we'll see during the year. A lot of it looks like pick up games where in years past the teams have had some chemistry from practicing together so much.

These guys all have their own agendas. They're looking to impress the Knicks, but more than that they are looking to impress any club in the NBA or in Europe.

Hill was a safe draft pick. I would have enjoyed a bigger gamble like Holiday or Jennings, but I'll reserve judgement until he plays a few games with the real team.

The bigger problem to me is that they're clearly trying to groom Almond as a complete 2 guard and he's not very good at driving the basketball no matter how much he tries.

Watching the Kings game and how Dante Greene has struggled with the Kings I think they would make a great match with a trade. Send a resigned Nate to them with Jeffries for Greene, Rodriguez and Thomas.

If we could ever turn Green around he would be a huge advantage in D'Antoni's system. I hated him at Syracuse, but the potential is there for sure.
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

Agree with this. Hill has shown flashes and the lane does seem extra clogged.

Douglas has shown a bit of more floor general skill than I expected, which is good for a guard off the bench.

JohnWallace - excellent analysis. Summer League is not a team sport. It is a showcase for individuals trying to make the show.

All the more reason that Marc Bermans lazy piece, "Knicks Stink Again" headline and article are evidence that he is not only a jerk, but doing an excellent job impersonating a sports writer.

6'9 Warren Carter has demonstrated ability to both score and rebound.

Carter looks like a Balkman that isn't quite as disruptive but actually has the potential to score off more than junk.

Not sure if there's room for him on this team, but he's trying his arse off in these games.

The only thing that bugs me about watching these games is that the "size" mantra I was going on pre-draft was not adhered to and seeing Evans and the other prospects with plus-size for their position blow our doors off is disturbing.

I think that Hill and Douglas will ultimately do fine and fill their roles. The star potential might not be there, but I doubt that's what they were drafted for. All eyes are on 2010 as usual with the Walsh administration.
