with our ending contracts for Boozer--I would do it. It's important to be good this year--more important than a pick in 2012 between 15 etc... We have to step up and get into the game. Tim Thomas coming here for session 3 is really not going to go over well even if he did help the team off the bench. If we get one good player we could sneak him in here after the fact.

i still don't see the incentive in utah sending boozer to the knicks when by all accounts, the 2010 pick is very important for their future plans. why send boozer to ny to hurt their chances at a lotto slot?

no to boozer. it's more important to pump up curry's value and trade him. that has to be the goal until the trade deadline - TRADE CURRY.

with boozer here, it'll be just like the ZBO situation and curry won't get enough touches and he'll play horribly. we need to trade curry and develop the kids.

boozer helps neither.

we're going to take some lumps this year, but boozer is a panic move that hinders the goal of getting rid of curry.

also, utah OWNS our 2010 pick unprotected - they aren't going to want to help improve our record by giving us a 20ppg 14rpg machine.

I agree, I've been saying that since all this Boozer talk started. I guess the ONLY thing you can say is what Briggs has been saying is that Utah might want the financial relief? I don't think I see that though.

I'm not sure if it's funny or sad we all still feel compelled to say "lottery restricted" pick when every other team's fanbase seems to assume that lotto picks will in fact possess restrictions

also, for Utah to value a 2012 lotto restricted draft pick, they'd have to believe that the knicks would be in the playoffs in 2012 to find that worthwhile. i mean, does anyone believe we'll be in the playoffs in 2012?

and even if they did think we might make the playoffs by then why would Utah value a 2012 non-lotto pick more than a 2010 top 3 lotto pick?

Miami is trying hard top land Boozer
Now, the Heat are working furiously to deliver Lamar Odom(notes) and Carlos Boozer(notes) to the shores of Biscayne Bay. The Heat are trying to sell Odom on a five-year, $34 million contract at the mid-level exception, and a league executive with knowledge of the talks says Miami has also hatched a three-way proposal with the Utah Jazz and Memphis Grizzlies to secure Boozer.

The essentials of a possible deal would include Miami sending forward Udonis Haslem(notes) and Dorell Wright to Utah. Because Memphis is under the cap, Utah could move Wright’s $2.8 million salary to the Grizzlies and save itself approximately $5.6 million with salary and luxury-tax payments. Memphis would probably get cash and picks for its trouble. The Heat would have to send one more small contract to make the math on the salary exchange work.

Miami could pay Boozer his $12.7 million salary this season and own his Bird rights to sign him to an extension next summer.

The deal isn’t considered imminent, but the Jazz are working hard to find a suitable trade for Boozer

to be fair, i'd want a nap after watching that game yesterday, too.

do we play the warriors in summer league? maybe he didn't want to see AR drop 50 on jordan hill.

totally agree. Curry isnt in his mid 30s trying to make a comback here. He's what? 26? He's lost a bunch of weight and I expect him to be a solid contributor for us if he doesnt get hurt. We have no post presence and he scores at over 55% a clip. I am pretty sure MDA can find a use for that

The upside is we get something in return for Curry when we trade him. The downside is we have a 6'11 guy scoring at 60% in the post for 25-28 minutes a night.

Our best bet of improving on our 32 wins from last year is to get better from within.

The keys to doing that are:
A more consistant Chandler
A healthy Eddie Curry
Limiting Duhon's minutes to avoid his annual breakdown
A healthy Gallinari
Some inside and outside defense (Douglas, Darko, Hill?)
Lee and Nate are either resigned or playing out their QOs

I think if we can get most of those things to happen we are a .500 team next year.

MDA wants to play fast. If Curry isn't running I really don't see Mike playing him.

So if curry comes in plays his ass off shows commitment..you don't think you would have to consider keeping him.I mean to be that heavy and still be as quick as he is, is remarkable and you have to take into consideration how good he played in 06.
