Whoever started it come out and claim it...lets confirm if it started here at UK. I think TD works for him for now...if he can make big plays..."TD for 3....Touchdown!!!" that would be freakin sweet.

I will take all credit for the nickname.

It all started with this post.........

Toney Douglas, i like his speed & activity on the court... comes off as a great kid in interviews too & his parents seem to be great people... i think he's gonna be a nice addition for us.

Thought the same thing TMS. Everything I've heard about TD's has been nothing but positive and you can tell where he got it from, his parents seemed like great people.

I'm sure Gus will be spitting that as often as possible.

Especially appropriate if he plays like another FSU former Knick - Charlie Ward (who won the Heisman Trophy and NCAA Football Championship)

TD stands for Tough Defense.

TD as in Ten Dimes per game.

TD for Triple Double?

TD Throws it Down

Or as a couple on this board would say:

TD: Total Downer.

This reminds me of that Sport Guy column about horrible horrible nicknames we've been reduced to in modern sport.
lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

5 dimes 1 turnover w/ 3 min to go in the 1st qtr. If Crawford holds on to the pass, he wouldn't have a turnover yet.

He still seems to be shooting poorly. STILL... I like him! He keeps his head up, pushes the ball, and plays d... doesn't telegraph the play. All signs of a composed point guard.

The scoring will come... I'm telling you, he is potentially the steal of this draft class

UK happy person: Douglas is steal of the draft.
UK negative person: We paid $3mil for his rights and another 1.8 mil on salary and taxes. What kind of steal is that?

blah.

unexcited about initials as a nickname.

hopefully the way he plays inspires a nickname. something to do with defense and/or passing.

bernard "the executioner" hopkins. there's a nickname.

Let's try to elevate the level of discourse in this byeetch. Please

"Clyde" was a great nickname that was inspired by the way he played defense.
"The Glove" also a great defensive nickname.

Toney D will have to earn his.
