charles frigging smith. i probably expressed myself on this board about this bum, that cost us the playoffs in 93. i do not want to hear that he was fouled. it was a beutifully well designed play that allowed him to dunk it. but the bum hesitated to try to get a foul call on jordan. the guy was too idiotic to remember that the referee's swallow their whistles when it comes to his airness in crunch time. he needed to take it up strong. yeah, it has been ten years but i am still burning from that play. then the bum faded out of basketball four years later. he was softer than brad daugherty and the frigging stay puft marshmellow man COMBINED.

I feel ya about Charles Smith.

Oh, you forgot to add Chris Dudley to the honorable mention list. Nothing puctuated how much that dude sucked as when Shaq gave him a nut sandwich when he dunked on him. Then he was so embarrassed that he threw the ball at Shaw afterwards. Anybody remember that?

Yes Dudley was the my most hated Knick for a long time but then i gre to appreciate his D and rebounding. But he certainly was the worst offensive players of ALL time not just on the knicks.

This one dates me -- John Gianelli! He was the symbol of the weak mid-70s teams that fell hard from their great years after Reed and DeBuchere retired. Man, he sucked. And he looked like a gigantic, gangly poodle. He was their starting center!

And we shouldn't forget some of the other scrubs of that era: Phil Jackson, Mel Davis, Hawthorne Wingo!

Man, this is a great thread. Bringing me back. Who remembers Ken "the Animal" Bannister (mid-80's teams). That guy had an ugly game.

Eddie Lee Wilkens!

Phil Jackson? Dude was awkward, but effective sub. Those long arms, great on defense.

Chris Dudley? No offense, over paid, but thats not his fault! Great Hussle! He got run over Herb Williams! So is it a race thing? He was the only white guy on the team for a year or so.

my least favorite knick was probobly Doug Christie i just didnt like him at all. haha Charles smith is a bozo though. (he was definitly fouled though.) this reminds me of the play Derick Harper made when he was on the Mavs when he dribbled out the clock in the 4th cause he thought his team was up, and than started jumping up and down celebrating.

Dudley had a long, effective career. I've never seen a worse shooter in my life, pick-up games included, but he could bang and board. Kind of a preppy Dennis Rodman, though obviously not as athletic.

Let's make the distinction between "worst" and "most disappointing". Dudley wasn't ever even the worse player on any team he played on. Certainly Charles Smith wasn't either. We expected more from them though, either because of contract (Dudley), or talent (Smith).

On the most disappointing list, I'd add: Pat (Short)Cummings, and, unfortunately, a bunch of our current team. Eisley, Anderson, Spoon. But no one tops Frederick Weiss.

MOst dissapointing was Spencer Haywood, Ray Williams, Michael Ray Richardson. All three with fabulous talent but never could figure life out. Eventually they decided it was better to burn out, than fade away (neil young),

Fred Weiss is right up there.

Notice Nene is now the man in Denver? He and Anthony are doing their thing and getting the W's. But do you think Chaney would have played him? I doubt it.

As much as I hate Shandon, I have to say that the worst Knick of all time was Luc Longely.
