Interesting that it took so long as the Knicks have a well documented history of always trying to introduce their draft picks or recently traded for players at the same time. They covet the joint press conference. So it was an oddity.

Regardless, it's been done:

New York Knickerbockers President of Basketball Operations Donnie Walsh announced today that forward Jordan Hill, the eighth overall selection by New York in the 2009 NBA Draft, has been signed to a contract.

Hill, 6-10, 235-pounds, averaged 18.3 points and 11.0 rebounds in his junior year at the University of Arizona, and set a school record for boards in a single season (375). The Newberry, SC-native finished as the Pac-10 leader in point-rebound double-doubles (20), ranked second in rebounding and blocked shots (1.71) and third in scoring. He also became the first Wildcat in 30 years to average double figures in both scoring and rebounding in the same season.

Hill is expected to play for the Knicks' entry in the 2009 NBA Summer League in Las Vegas, NV from July 14-19.

the knicks already introduced both players after they were drafted.

you're reading WAAAAY too much into this, man. seriously, does everything the knicks do need to be some kind of major piece of evidence as part of some kind of a conspiracy?

It's not that... it's that unsigned players can be traded at any time whereas signed ones cannot be traded until after a month (I believe). With the rumors floating some of us suspected the team may be talking trade, especially when joint press conferences require less staff attention and more media coverage. I'm with you, I don't think there's too much there but the speculation wasn't conspiracy minded

Reading what? All I mentioned was it was curious that a franchise, who has a history of introducing SIGNED players at the same time (the photo op was not of signed players), failed to do so. Knowing that an unsigned drafted player can be immediately traded whereas a signed drafted player has a waiting period all I did was mention there was a chance that some trade talks might be going on.

It's not like I pulled a RealGM teen post "OMFG KNICKS SIGNED DOUGLAS BUT NOT HILL WE'RE TRADING HILL FOR DWIGHT HOWARD!!!!111122223333fourfivesix."

So, well, yeah.... I think you read into my comments more than necessary.
