This might be from the daily News:

If the Knicks don't sign Grant Hill, free-agent point guard Andre Miller could be their fallback plan.

A team source indicated that New York could turn their attention to Miller if Hill elects to re-sign with the Suns.

The Knicks could offer Miller a deal worth the mid-level exception, although is he rumored to be looking for significantly more.

I like Andre Miller. He's a natural point guard that can also rebound the ball and plays defense. He's a leader on the floor.

Knicks chances though i think of signing him are small.

small to none.

Phili will give him 3 years at $7-$8mm min. At least what Bibby got. I like Miller's game a lot. He's not the shooter that MDA covets but he's 1000x better than Duhon and I thought MDA did pretty good with Chris as a stop gap. I think Miller is one of the more underrated PGs in the league and would be a great fit.

With ovetures to Kidd and Maybe miller it does not speak well for Duhons leadership role.

That or Duhon is trade fodder.

I think Duhon is trade fodder. He's not long term and is one of the league's best backups. He's great in the role and one year and $5mm left is good economics.

A Simple Plan

In light of the salary cap shrinkage, Plan B for 2009 could quickly replace Plan A for 2010 which formerly was the plan for 2011.

Forget the plan. Sign both Grant Hill AND Andre Miller. Damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead!

It's funny how Sixers haven't mentioned anything about signing Miller.

It might be they're ready to move on. If that's the case, thats good news for the knicks.

Phila doesn't have a starting PG if Miller leaves. Miller is asking $9 per yr. I'm sure Phila will start negotiating with Miller. If Miller starts talking with the Knicks it is too get the Sixers to make him a good offer. Which is fine. Let them pay more and take a bigger bite out of their team salary cap.

But Miller is not going to sign here. Let's get real.

I'd be okay with Andre Miller, everytime I look at him he reminds me of Richard Pryor. My personal nickname for him his Mudbone after one of Rich's characters.

Id take Miller in a heartbeat, maybe even cut into the 2010 salary if I had to because it doesnt look like we are getting two max contracts and Miller is/was very close to being a max money player anyhow.

Can we be honest with ourselves and call this what it is?

i would love it, but there's no way he comes. frank isola is just pulling things out of the air now.

maybe miller will come take a tour of the garden to get more money out of philly or portland, but that's it.

Let him come to us, get an hour with Walsh, give him an offer that we know other teams can meet, present him with a Knicks' mug as a keepsake and immediately do a press release where we indicate that we are only lukewarm about our interest in him.

Maybe this will work, because if I have learned one thing in the past few months- it is that if the Knicks really want someone- S. Curry, Rubio, Kidd, and how Hill, it seems that the gods have decreed that we are not going to get him.

This is pure unadulterated BS. Andre Miller isnt taking 5mm a year here--it's just not happening.

We sck--that is a problem. If Grant Hill is taking LESS $ to stay in Pheonix--that is a bad sign.

I want to win for Christs sakes--I don't think there is a 2010 plan without a reasonable attempt to win games now.

Are you telling me we cant get a good deal with Mobley contract in this environment?

Would the Jazz owners really turn down 12mm free dollars for Boozer?

12mm for Boozer gives them huge leeway for a player they obviously do not want. 12 mm lets you get or keep players you want.

I can't see anyway this works unless all players have moved on and he accepts the 5.8 for a year.

WTF is Boozer gonna do? Seriously. The guy is a wimp and he can't even stay healthy. There is no point in bringing in this guy. This is just another lame ass move to make headlines ala Isiah Thomas.

Why would I want Boozer--because he should score 25 points here a night and grab 12 rebounds and shoot 56-57% He could be a guy who helps spread the floor. This is a one year rental to see what he has if we could even get in the game--what exactly is wrong with that? You CANNOT avg 21-12 on a Western conference playoff team being a shtty player kid. I want to try to win. Don't tell me Carlos Boozer isnt a huge upgrade from anything we have--and he WOULD help spread the floor. You have to show guys in this league we are trying. I think we can get in on this--thats a LOT of money for Utah--this guy is in a contract year--he's going to play his arse off. He's a tough physical presence. We have some additional length now with Darko and Hill--now we need a low post scorer who can help draw double teams.
