Post your highlights here, and let us know which obscure prospect that's tearing it up that you want to sign.

BTW, Mike Sweetney has been found. Not in a McDonald's, but on Boston's summer league team:

from my view

best player I saw today--James Harden

I think we may have been lucky we did not draft Holiday. I don't even know if I can classify him as a PG and I would say without hesitation that if we did draft him he would be giving Dantoni multiple headaches. I don't know about the long term--sometimes it's very hard to project a guy like that--perfect example is Chauncey Billups--I mean it could be 2-3 teams before this guy hits his stride

Terrance Williams--same guy that was a career 38% shooter at Louisville. Does a lot of little good things but the guy cant put the ball in the ocean. His shot is flat and to me he will be the high energy role player that was over rated in workouts because of his lottery athleticism.

Tyler H was good in the 2nd half--hes going to do all right--you can see he will be all right in there--under rated athletically. And AJ Price will make that team. AJ looked much more like a PG than Holiday by the way.

I liked that whole Okla team--their starting C Ibaka is going to make a name for himself. Mullens looked fine he hit two mid range shots and couldve /shouldve been a little better but missed a few bunnies. I always liked DJ White Westbrook Harden should be a nice backcourt

Nothing else worth mentioning other than I want to see who is better out of the box Lester Hudson or Toney Douglas. Hudson looked pretty good compared to a bunch of other players.

So are you trying to say that you cannot take what a player does in one single solitary SL game and say that this is how they are going to play over the rest of their 10-12 year NBA career!!?? Are you saying that we have to wait to make final judgments about these guys- that their games may actually evolve as they grow older and gain experience?! What the...!

By the way, some OKC RealGM comments on Mullens:

- Mullens is indeed a project but hit 3 mid range shots, but all were very, very ugly
- Vaden and BJ Mullens were nothing to Write home about

I guess that some folks are going to have to reevaluate their high opinions about Mullens...

...until the next game, anyway.

Good lookin out Des, thanks for that.

Theres 3 guys I wanted to keep a close eye who played in that game. Obviously Josh Duncan, who I think can have a real Kurt Thomas type of career. The dude can shoot the rock, play in the post and gives you good defense. Not gonna be an awesome rebounder but can get you 7-8 a night. Definitely someone I've been pining for.

The other 2 guys are Lester Hudson and Eric Maynor (my other man-crush.) Maynor played great, had 9 pts on (4 of 9 shooting) 4 assists (0 turnovers) and 4 rebounds. Utah might have the best PG combo in the league now. I won't bother anyone anymore with more Maynor

The last guy is Lester Hudson. He's a 25 year old rookie from a small school in Tennessee, who had some real issues with grades and off the court stuff in high school, but he took the long road to the NCAA and really seems to have changed himself. At 6'2, 190 he's a hell of a scorer and he might be the closest thing to Allen Iverson even though you never heard of him. The guy can score at a high clip and get to the line and his scoring can take over a game. He was someone I was looking for in the draft but he might be a bit too ball dominant for this team. If Boston ends up keeping this guy, then it's just not going to be fair for the rest of the league.

What did I observe that really was not known before the draft? I think you have to watch Harden--he sticks out over the other players--he looks like he is REALLY good. Everything else--what can you say--I didnt know if Holiday looked like a pure PG before the draft and from viewing him here[and Im sure for the next several SL games] you will see that he may quite wild and not a true PG. He is so raw that you just don't know what he will be--right now my bet is he will be watching a lot of games on his arse. Contrary to what the person said below I thought Mullens played fairly well and liked what I saw--nothing that I saw added or subtracted what I think he can be. He missed some bunnies and didnt rebound the ball well enough yet also displayed some of his talents[how many 7 footers in the NBA are even capable of hitting the mid range?] I don't expect him to be an overwhelming star but I think he will give you atleast one performance this summer--something like an 8-11 etc.. with more rebounds that will kind of give you a glimpse of what he can be. Their starting C was clearly better--perhaps the best big man of the day that I saw--a little wild but looked real good. Terrance Williams? Same thing he did at Louisville--he did last night--no surprises.
I understand completely what you are saying but Im giving my view of what I saw--and I m pretty sure some things I said from first impressions will play out. How many times did you have to see Brook Lopez last year to know he was going to be pretty good right away. Harden by far and away looked like a good player from guys we have never seen. He's going to be good I would bet on it.

James Harden is an extremely professional ballplayer- most advanced skill player in the draft by some margin I believe. He fills in a lot of gaps in a lineup and is a very steady performer. People let 1 or 2 mediocre games cloud there judgement on what he did all year, which was constantly produce.

We've got one week before we play. 6pm, the 14th, Memphis. I can't wait, honestly.

If I am around I will record and upload the game.

I don't feel like Green is an NBA PF. Seems like more of a Ryan Gomes type tweener.

i think they'll just play green and durant at forwards and play up tempo. briggs don't forget OKC has like $10 mil in cap room this offseason and have been rumored to millsap and even david lee. presumably their front court will have one more piece.

Young players have numerous issues to contend with, some are physical, some are mental, some have to do with the skills they possess, some are combinations of all three. People tend to jump on some VERY early data and think that it represents how that player will perform in the future.

Mullens has all the physical talent in the world, but who knows what is going on inside his head and whether he will ever become a true center or remain a small forward in a big man's body.. Harden has major skills, but I still wonder about how slow he looked at the end of the college year, and how that will ultimately translate in the NBA. You look at Westbrook and the guy still cannot hit a jumper.

T. Williams will never be a 20PPG scorer, and I think that he may develop more slowly than some (not sure on this, though), despite his physical talent, but when he finds his comfort zone as a player he can be a solid contributor on a good team. He can already do some things- rebound, assists, steals, and play D, than many young players at his position can't do. Some of you folks call this "stat padding," if call it being a BB player.

I see player development at bit differently than you, obviously. Some players can just jump into the fray, others need time to develop or hone their skills, become physically stronger, or gain the mental confidence to perform in the NBA, and some never make it.

You can't always extrapolate from limited samples and determine that a player will be the next KG, or whomever- this is something that takes time to determine. Some people are in a rush to be the first to crown a young player as the next ????, and it just makes no sense to me.

P55-- Good post, I think you are correct about people's desire to crown the star of this class being a bit pre-mature and senseless. I think many of the top drafted players have something that makes them NBA players and not D-leaguers, and you can find something for each of them if you look hard enough.

I think many of us are looking at our own newly drafted players and hoping to see something to make us beleive that our luck has changed this year. Others are looking at everyone else's new players and building a record so that they can say 'I told you so' 5 years from now.

In either case, we are a long way from tip-off 2009 and yet here we are bleeding blue and orange. Up and down with the rumor mill and dreams of 2010. Microscoping every inch of our players until we get to see them in action. Senseless, but I like it.
You know I gonna spin wit it

Derrick Brown had a few nasty slams. Jrue Holiday cannot dribble and he cannot shoot neither can T Williams. Put Holiday and Williams on the same team and you are guaranteed to see a low scoring game.
