CJ Watson anyone? Averaged 9.5 ppg, 2.7 apg on solid shooting and is only 25 yrs old. This guy drained jumpers vs. us when we played them this year. Had the looks of a pretty good player- not sure he has the skills to play PG full time yet, but he's a worthwhile project. A restricted FA- but with the Warriors already having Eliis, Curry and bringing in Acie Law are they gonna match offers for him? I'm talking partial MLE (2-3 mil per) or LLE for this guy.

...drained jumpers vs. us...

I'm not sure that's a qualification but I did see Watson play last year and, yeah, if the season starts without a backup for Duhon...why not Watson? Yeah, what I saw of him he last year he, ahem, outplayed our guards. His defense was notable if not particularly efficient.

he could actually be a nice replacement for Nate - don't know about the between the ear issues - but he could probably be the kind of guy that explodes this year or next.

I think he would be a worthwhile flyer V. As you said the guy is only 25 years old and if you look at his gamelog he's had some huge scoring nights. Aside from his 9.5ppg last year, he also averaged 1.3 steals a game. Now I don't think he's a great defensive player, but he's a worthwhile gambler and he has the athleticism to match up against any PG in the league. Why not? As you said, give him 2-3 million per year and see what he can do if we end up losing Nate.

The Knicks should contact Boston about Gabe Pruitt!

He's not a PG so no.

Check out his stats in April where he was playing more of a starting PG down the stretch for them. He was averaging 17.5 ppg and 5.4 apg on 47% shooting.

Also at Tennessee he was definitely a PG...has been asked to be more of a scorer in the NBA, but he can definitely adapt back to PG IMO.

Low risk, high upside signing IMO

How about Toney Douglas?

Exactly, we first need to evaluate whether Douglas can play consistently at the pg position. He was not asked to be the pg at Fla. State, so he might have some hidden pg in him that MDA might be able to develop. If he can play the point, we got the steal of the draft because this kid has Top-15 scoring ability, he just was undersized for a two-guard.

If we don't get Kidd or Nash at this point then I want to stay put and let Douglas backup Duhon.

I would suggest Watson in addition to Douglas, especially considering Duhon could be trade bait at the deadline. IMO when you have a couple of young, unproven guys its not a bad idea to double up.
