Very impressive by Roddick so far. Hope he wins. Really deserves it the way he's playing. Hard to hate Fed tho, such a great guy.

Great match so far and I agree with you - Federer is a great and humble champion, truly a good guy. There aren't many people who would have handled losing to Nadal the way he did the last few times, like he did.

I really hope Roddick wins though, Fed has enough championships.

Im seriously nervous as hell watching this. I simply cannot fathom how these guys can operate under this kind of pressure and at such a high level!!

To me this was a better match than Federer-Nadal last year. Last year had a little more drama because of the rain and because Nadal is a groundstroker and played longer points. But today you saw everything come together for Andy Roddick. He might have the most pure power of any tennis player ever and today he had it all working, and even showed great touch. His backhand was the best its ever been.

The problem is Federer is still the greatest of all time and wouldn't be beaten. It only fitting that this win establihed himself as the player with the most grand slam championships.

To me Roger Federer is a legend in the standing of Babe Ruth, Michael Jordan and Tiger Woods.

Whats really astonishing is that Roddick literally threw averything at Federer for 4 hours straight. So much so that Roddick looks dead on his feet and Federer looks like he could play another 3 sets!! The guy just isnt human. It just goes to show BTW just how good Nadal was last year to be the guy at his favourite tournament.

I think last year had more technical rallies etc and was a better tennis match but this years was all about grit, determination and not quitting. Hope Roddick wins in the future. Very gracious in defeat and the crowd really loved him. He got more cheers then the winner!

Great match but the Nadal-Federer rivalry is better. The drama of Rafa taking Roger to 5 sets and then losing, followed by another 5 setter and a win the nex year was something truly amazing. If Roddick really wants this he will have to do the same - Fed does not lose championships easily as we saw today. You need mor than your best tennis to beat him, And Andy came really close.

I was rooting for Andy because he has never won Wimbledon and really hasn't been able to be consistent but he looked great and I hope it continues. I do feel that if Nadal had been healthy it would have been Federer-Nadal 3 and would have been epic.

I thought Roger played very tight last year, way below his par for the first couple of sets and then came on later. To me, this was an extremely well played match all the way through. A lot more first serve winners, but the groundstrokes and rallies in this match were very impressive.

The mental capcity of that match was amazing. all the sets were tight and one might say two errors over 5 hours was the difference!

Fatigue was never a factor.

Anyone have a link to the full length video? Unfortunately I didn't see the full match and, well, that might have been the greatest force o will moment in sports I've seen. Roddick would have beaten anyone else and, well, he didn't collapse. Federer just decided he was going to win. I know the dude is devoid of charisma but he's the most dominant athlete of this era in any sport and doesn't get enough love because he doesn't have Tiger's fist pump
