Lee still has the option of taking the qualifying offer or taking what the Knicks offer and seeing if he can squeeze out some more. There's always a sign and trade, but if that's the decision Lee's agent is gonna have to work with said team to get the Knicks what they need and that's expirings and a player they can use....

Qualifying offer seems like the best road since next year is where all the money is....

Anyway, I think this saga is gonna be done with before summer league...

I think, you know, that is not good! this guy averaged 18/14 after the zbo trade, he led the league in double doubles, he was awesome. you want to give him 8m$?? Have you seen who is getting payed 10m$, 21m$, even bad 5m$??

He deserves at least 10m$, and he should be s&t for that or let walk, because that's that.

No doubt Lee is a good player, but they guy is very soft. He's not enforcing ****...his inside presence is pitiful...yet if there is a rebound to get he will be right there. He needs help...he looked great with Zach by his side....I still can't see the dude getting 10 mill a season.

I wouldn't mind keeping him now that the Knicks have some goons to back him up. Jordan Hill is gonna contribute right away, and I'm thinking Darko wants to prove himself. Last season Lee was alone. Maybe Lee grows a pair and battles inside more Knowing he has help.

Who knows....but yo...10 mill per is too much...Lee is not gonna win games on offense or defense...if we gonna spend that money, then I want a guy that can be a factor in that respect.

Comapring him to Charlie....Charlie may not have put up numbers with the Bucks but that francise for some reason just ignored him. He would drop 20/10 and some other nice stats then get a dnp, or 10 mins the next night. I don't expect that to happen in Detroit. Charlie is a factor on offense and he can be a go to type scorer and carry a club consistantly if given a coaches trust. He deserves what he got...maybe Lee also deserves the same salary, but the Knicks aren't at a point where they need to sign David or die....Knicks are dead as is...why "Allan Houston" ourselves??? There are adequate replacements out there.

Lee is a great player, if your paying him under 8 to 8.5 Million a year. Anything above that is not enough return for what you pay for. If he actually played some defense than he could expect to reach 10 to 14 Million. Lee pretty much defaults to letting his man jack up whatever shot they want.. as long as he gets his position for the rebound, it is Gravy. Lee has to step it up on the defensive end. Without that he is only half a complete player.

Just because other players in the league, and some on our roster, are OVERPAID, does not mean we should overpay David 'Jazz Hands' Lee.

I've noticed that no one can justify paying Lee a lot without citing two and only two statistics: points and rebounding. For most of these players getting paid a lot of money, there are SEVERAL aspects of their game you can cite. That in itself should be revealing. Besides points and either rebounds or assists, you can usually cite things like "anchors the defense with his shot-blocking" or "is a great man to man defender" or "makes others better with his passing skills" or "has the ability to play several positions."

Let him walk! He is a "nice" complementary player but not a main piece. How many wins did his double-doubles get us?

Once you take into account defense and the roles they played on their teams, I don't think Lee is better than Marion or Odom either.
