Concept II rower. I like rowing machines because they give a full body workout and are appropriate for HIIT (high intensity interval training), which is just a fancy way of saying that I can go at close to 100% effort for about 20 seconds followed by lower-intensity rest. That doesn't work on most aerobic machines. On a treadmill, for example, I can't really run at close to 100% effort without going at a speed that feels unsafe or a ridiculous incline.

Sounds like you have an awesome gym. I entered my max bid on bidnapper. It's significantly lower than the price of new ones. I hear ya on not paying too much. I entered a high value earlier but then thought it over and revised the value. Yeah shipping could get complicated. The guy estimated it would be around $80 to ship to me. He has a long history and 100% positive rating. So hopefully he's not going to try to screw me with the shipping.

My dad told me that sometimes people will have their friends bid (with no intention of following through on the deal) just to drive the price up. In this case, there are two bidders (who have each bid twice). A few things caught my attention, though.
-The two bidders have no prior bidding history on E-bay.
-On two occasions, the same bidder has bid against himself! (kind of like us with Allan Houston!) First, bidder A bid $350; then 18 seconds later he bid $375. Then bidder B entered two separate bids of $380.
-They keep driving up the price well before the end time of the auction (over a day left).

YOur reading it wrong. I can't retype the instructions and how it works here but that is not what is happening.

I have bought many things on e-bay over the years so I will give you my rules:

1. don't pay more than 66% of retail price on somthing new.

2. If its too good to be true, it is.

3. Don't buy things straight from china sellers.

4. DON'T WORRY ABOUT SNIPER BIDDERS WHO WILL GET YOU IN THE END. IT HAPPENS. SET YOUR PRICE AND LET OTHERS CHASE YOU. IF THEY EXCEED THEY OVERPAY. KNOW YOUR MARKET. WATCH OTHER ROWERS AND WHAT THE PRICES ARE. THIS MAY TAKE A FEW DAYS OR WEEKS DEPENDING ON TRAFFIC. IF YOU ARE NOT PATIENT THEN EXPECT TO PAY WHAT YOU PAY OR BUY NEW. IT IS POSSIBLE THAT SOMEONE WILL OUT BID YOU FOR A DOLLAR. THIS IS NOT TRUE, THEY SET A HIGHER PRICE AND MIGHT HAVE GONE MUCH HIGHER. I HAVE SEEN BIDS LOSE TOUCH WITH REALITY MANY TIMES AS NEWBIES GET COMPETITIVE. LOOK AT BUYING NEW AND ENJOY WARRANTY AND NOT GETTING BURNED. MOST PEOPLE ARE HONEST BUT "AS IS" IS JUST THAT. Dad is right as there are irregularities, but thats not what your seeing.

That is one old machine. THe electronics are pretty old on that one.

They all work about the same and those old metal ones are pretty cool.

He mentioned "Bungie cord"? Is that the pully? Mine is a bike style chain. IM sure its fine.

Concept is a cool company. I always wanted to buy a rowing skull and get into it but they are expensive and I don't want anymore toys that are not used regularly.

I just moved onto a small lake but its really too small to get any kind of work out in. I gotta get used Canoe for my daughter.

I use ebay all the time. I never bid on items that I would be devastated if they broke down in a year(had a bad experience with a stereo once) and I have a preset price in my head. If I can't get it for that price I move on. They say, never go into a grocery store hungry. Well, never go to ebay desperate. I've had great success on ebay and have gotten many good deals.

As for Craigslist, I use it all the time for must have items. I live just outside of Boston so you never know who you are going to run into. When I go pick up an item off Craig's list I always bring a couple friends with me and make the person bring the item outside. Or I meet them in a public place. Can't be too trusting nowadays.

Yeah, I knew that might happen in advance. The guy was willing to go above my max price. He may have been willing to go up to $1000 for all I know! Good for him. No big deal. There's other rowers on E-Bay.
