Steve Nash remains confident that he'll sign a contract extension with the Suns at some point this summer.

However, Nash added that he'd love to play for the Knicks if an agreement isn't reached with the Suns.

"I would preface it by saying that I love Phoenix and that's what I'm focusing on right now," Nash told the Globe and Mail. "But I live in New York City, and I love it there, and [Knicks head coach] Mike D'Antoni was one of my favorite coaches. If it didn't work out in Phoenix, obviously that would be a place I'd consider."

The Knicks have been linked to Jason Kidd on the free agent market, and are known to be looking for an experienced point guard.

Any chance this could happen? Would you want this to happen?

could happen...Nash loves to play soccer at the field in chinatown. It was close to where I used to live at.

very true...the mofo takes the train by himself...I know cuz I saw him twice. Especially when he had just cut his hair bald that time. Nobody really recognized him.

Anyway, Knicks offered Kidd the mid-level...if Nash wants to be in NY he needs to throw a tantrum, lol. I don't think Pheonix is gonna hand deliver Nash to the Knicks though. Bunch of douches over there.

I too would prefer Nash to Kidd but I still hold the same reservations about acquiring either player. Their age, the time they have left in the NBA, and the phase of rebuilding we are in does not seem to match up for the benefit of our future.

I would rather groom someone who would be here through 2015 than take on a vet who is at the end of his rope for a season or two all while we're in no position to win big.

That hopefully is the plan if we don't get Kidd (which is looks like we won't). Sign the max players next year and hopefully add Nash for the vets minimum. He seems like the kind of guy that wouldn't squander his money like most NBA players and I think he would take a massive pay cut to play here. Also after seeing him on letterman he could become a a great tv personality and if he came to NY that would help him out in that aspect.

I could see if Nash asked Kerr politely, maybe Kerr takes Chris Duhon and a signed Nate Robinson for Nash. Steve then signs for a 5 year extension that may only add 5 mil in 2010.

definitley D wade and Lebron are at the top of the list.

then there's Amare, Bosh, Dirk, Joe Johnson, Rip Hamilton, Josh Howard.

then there are the restricted fa's: Brandon Roy, Rudy Gay, LaMarcus Aldridge, Rajon Rondo.

Its all posturing... In my opinion! Players around the league, for whatever reason seem to engage in what turns out to be "empty rhetoric" with NYK. Personally i've grown numb to such rumors that involve the Knicks, and honestly have taken the wait and see approach.

My feelings toward Nash, Kidd, or any other potential star player is:
It's great that you "like the NY Knicks"; but if you ultimately do not play for the squad... then SO WHAT? ITS A MOOT POINT! Stop the starphucking.

Next seasons addition at point guard (starter/backup... whomever) will most likely result from a trade. The pieces will probably include David Lee or Nate Rob... heck, maybe even both!

I could be wrong, but until it's proven otherwise... I won't hold my breath! HERE IS TO A HAPPY OFFSEASON NYK FANS!

We've gone from a team nobody wants to play for to a team that is number two on the list of stars in 1 year.

I'd love Nash. Then we could trade duhon and Chandler (I prefer to keep Chandler) for rubio (I'm infatuated with rubio, especially backing up Nash)

if Nate, dlee and jeffries turned in Marion and frye I'd **** myself.
Let's go Knicks. That's amare

Nash or any playmaker would be a plus for NYK. Its just thinking that, and actually realizing it seems to be very far fetched... at least for this season. Also you'd have to measure at what expense.

I noticed that you would consider a Duhon and Chandler swap for Rubio, but as a preference would rather keep Chandler in the fold... (Personally, I hope Chandler remains a NY Knick for the rest of his career- Im high on him. I know that he has limitations, he will be a marginal ball handler at best... but I know what I'm getting as a product; Chandler plays 3 positions.. and has done it at the highest level guarding top tier talent. He is proven!)

Just curious why the infatuation with Ricky Rubio? (You are not the only one either) Especially at the expense of a budding offensive/defensive talent on the Knicks, our only standout in that regard might I add. Maybe he does not have super star-potential but certainly Wilson Chandler could pan out to be a perennial all star. NBA 2nd team Defense as well.

I don't know enough about Ricky Rubio to give a fair assessment, I have seen the Youtube clips and I was wow'd by his array of passes. Question, do you or anyone else believe that this will translate to the NBA game? Is he really worth giving up an improving two-way player for?

Rubio reminds me of Jason Williams (White Chocolate)... Williams had a pretty up and down NBA career, but was never touted as an elite player! Based on what I'm hearing, Rubio can not shoot, nor does he defend quicker guards well... As a result, Im lead to believe that he just has the flair for the dramatic, but could be a liability in other key aspects of his game. That is a concern!

Has anyone seen him play consistently? I really hear a massive amount of hype when concernig Ricky Rubio, but I remain skeptical.. Any insight on him would be greatly appreciated.
