Good interview. They are positive on the Knicks 2 draft picks. Lukewarm on Darko but think the trade was OK.

Aldridge seems confident the Knicks will be able to S&T Lee & Nate to get more pieces.

I like what I heard about Douglas. Hopefully this kid gets playing time. Eric Snow made it sound as if there is no chance Lee will be resigned.

bTW, Jordan Hill can't talk...he's gotta work on that. I know interviews are tough and the camera is scary but I hope he can get comfortable...cuz I will be pushing mute till he finishes talking.

This Toney Douglas has the credentials and the respect of his peers....also was the fastest at the combine...yet the dude is an after thought in the draft except for the Knicks....summer league is in 2 weeks and I can't wait

There's nate talk here as well....Aldridge did mention the fact Lee and Nate are basically being replaced by Hill and Douglas...its good business to try to move Nate and Lee to get cheaper guys that help stay compeditive and maybe help move Jared and Curry for expirings...go Donnie go!!!

The only thing I can think of is Toney Douglas does not have a good agent or an agent. The thing is, he is going to exposure by playing in New York if he gets playing time. If the Knicks get Jason Kidd Douglas playing time might be limited or he might be rocking the suit and tie look. Hopefully if the Knicks get Kidd they will think about removing Duhon to make room for Douglas.

you can be assured that if the Knicks sign Kidd, Nate and/or Duhon are as good as gone. And that would still leave the Knicks pretty thing at the guard positions. Right now they really only have Duhon, Nate, Hughes, Douglas with some of Chandler time. And I gotta believe that Nate is halfway out the door regardless of Kidd on roster or not.

The Answer Man Only Represents When The Occasion Calls For Representation

BigC - "The only thing I can think of is Toney Douglas does not have a good agent or an agent."

Think again BigC, Toney Douglas is represented by David Falk. He is no afterthought.

Thats not it. His agent might be the most successful agent in NBA history. David Falk represented Michael Jordon for example and Toney Douglas is his only client in this years draft.

The reason he didn't go higher was he is very short for a shooting guard, and has very limited experience as a point guard. So far he has demonstrated that he has a very strong desire to succeed, and has found a way to meet every challenge in front of him. But as a general rule, players that aren't able to prove they are excellent point guards in college, do not get a chance to learn point guard in the NBA. So many thought he was the good college basketball player whose skills didn't translate to the NBA. (Toney only got to play point guard consistently in his senior year in college.)

Really? Is that what why he was drafted so late? If the Knicks did not draft Douglas who knows when he would have gotten drafted. We can not pretend that Douglas was not an afterthought when he was almost drafted in the 2nd round. David Falk already charges an arm and leg to his clients. As a matter fact he was one of the main reason why some players decided not to use an agent.

I do believe that agents can only top out at a certain amount these days.

There were a LOT of PGs and guards in this draft. He dropped cause of it. 17 guards drafted in first round, 2 C's and 6 PF's. WOW.

BigC - who really cares at this point what draft position number Toney Douglas was selected?

In the final analysis it only matters whether Douglas can learn to play as an effective NBA guard or not. I would simply offer that David Falk would not represent a scrub.
