Why not just sign and trade him for a signed and traded Trevor Ariza? I think it's been no secret that the Lakers love Nate.

Trevor would not be as good anywhere else but with Kobe. He's delusional if he thinks he is.

Runs the floor. Has an improved shot. Plays defense. Gets steals. Will block a shot here and there. Knows how to pass.

Yeah, I'm sure D'Antoni doesn't need any of that.

Because Ariza is looking for a payday around 9 million. That means the Knicks would be stuck with Ariza's contract starting at 9 million a year for a few years. Plus Nate and Ariza's salaries do not match. Ariza is not resigning with the Lakers. If the Lakers really wanted Nate they would sign him for the MLE. The Knicks are trying to cut salary not add more salary to their cap for 2010. Not to mention Chandler is better than Ariza.

Ariza looks better on the perimeter with Kobe Bryant occupying everyone's attention... thanks but no thanks. I kinda have players like Ariza/Nate/Lee in the same category: replaceable

I have heard several people say they want Ariza. Does that mean people are not sure about Danilo and his future as a Knick at the sf spot?

probably...

I like Gallo a lot and think he has potential to become a player... but I see his potential at PF not SF. Once he drops his baby fat and gets some American bulk I think his career progression will mirror Dirk's. I'm not saying he'll be as good, I just mean his first few years everyone is going to complain about his toughness and why he can't rebound. But the bottomline is his stroke is pure and NBA ready and he'll be able to earn his keep in that regard. But I don't think he's quick enough laterally to be an NBA SF

I want nothign to do with Ariza. When he's making 5-6 mill a year, he's going to look like a much worse player.

No he's not. He's not a star, but a guy who plays with his energy and defense is worth it.

I guarantee you he will not look good once he's making 6 a year. Plus I'd be worried about him developing a Lama Odom syndrome.

When we first drafted Gallo I bumped into someone that is part of the Knicks organization and he told me that the Knicks at the time felt that Gallo would be the the next Dirk. Also Gallo is suppose to be Lee's replacement. So far it looks like that is the Knicks plan. I'm just not sure how long the Knicks will wait before they and the fans become impatient.

The thing is, he will have problems scoring once teams start to focus on him. It is a whole different ball game when there is no Kobe and teams are not leaving him wide open to double Gasol or Kobe. Also his man-to-man defense is not that good. What he is good at is playing passing lanes. AI is one of the best at playing passing lanes but his man-to-man defense is not that good. To be honest Larry Hughes might be a better defender.

he has no left, a shaky dribble, can't shoot moving, no touch around the basket, and is still more gambler than lock down defender

and like C said Wilson is better

I like Ariza a lot and he did a good job but I see him as a need player and not a building block player. If you need and athletic wing then go for it. We have Chandler who should be playing 35-40 minutes a game there.

He has no handle, no ability to create his own shot.

Iff JJ Reddick were taller and could defend he'd be Trevor Ariza.

Because Nate is much better than Ariza and trevor isn't even that good. Just what we need another wing player. He average 8pts in the regular seasonw with ****ing kobe, lamar and gasol. Not even close to worth it with Chandler in the fold who is already better at everything.

Ariza isn't getting above the mid-level, if Ariza is looking for 9 then Larry was right after all. He doesn't do one thing exceptionally well and he is insulted at 5.6 million. These guys have some ****ing nerve.

You're crazy. I'm a Kobe fan but Ariza and Fisher are the reasons why Kobe was able to celebrate his 4th championship. Kobe had issues these playoffs with ball control. Ariza on the other hand, made Howard look like he was suffering from some mental illness the way he kept fumbling the ball right into Ariza hands. If Ariza doesn't play well, the Lakers don't even get out of the Denver series, let alone win the Finals. What's are the Lakers answers to no Ariza, revive Sasha from eternal rest, wait on Adam "Don't call me Larry" Morrison to break out? Ha, I don't blame Reezy, Kupcake is a fool.

Ariza wants more than a MLE, so a S&T is not gonna happen, at least not w/us... if we want Ariza u can just offer him a MLE, cuz Lakers aren't offering anything more than that & he feels insulted that they don't think he's worth more... personally i think Chandler is a better player than he is anyway.

Pass on Ariza - he's overrated and not a good fit.
