TIDBIT: I just heard Adrian Wojnarowski on the radio say how Lee's agent proposed 5 years/60 million to Memphis. They basically laughed and didn't counter, just started looking elsewhere and snagged Zach.

QUESTION: Have the Knicks already given a multi-year offer to Lee, or are they basically waiting to see what comes from other teams?

I think that given the market, they should go lower than anticipated. There may not be 8mil/yr out there for Lee from anyone. In that case there certainly should not be from the Knicks either. Honestly, I don't want them to be stuck giving him even 7-8mil per over the length of the contract. If the market is moving in the Knicks' favor, they should take full advantage and lowball him, and only take him back at a lowball rate.

If you insult him with a lowball offer the risk is he will play for the qualifying offer and leave as a UFA next year like Ben Gordon.
lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

I think the Knicks have a proposed 4 year $32M. Maybe it starts around $7M

at which point you have to ask yourself about the $7-$8mm you *would* have spent on Lee, and can that yield a better player on the open market?

If Lee does walk after a QO it means we have that much more to spend on the open market.
