The numbers don't really add up to the Knicks being able to get two Max players in 2010 yet, especially after adding the previously unscheduled contract of Toney Douglas.

The fact that Wilson's name was in trade rumors tells me that he's not part of the plan.

Wilson is also part of the cap problem in 2010 from purely a money standpoint. He's also an Isiah pick and we know we can't have that.

There is a team in crisis down in Texas that has two Max Contract players that may never play at a high level again.

- Cat Mobley's contract traded for TMac would save Houston a ton of dough this year
- Curry's contract would make the salaries match, but that makes it unfair to Houston because of Curry's extra year
- Adding Wilson to the deal tips it in Houston's favor, but clears even more space for the Knickerbockers
- Kyle Lowrey and Sergio Llull added into the deal give the Knicks a back court player now, and one for the future who doesn't effect the 2010 cap

Mobley - Curry - Wilson - to Houston
TMac - Lowrey - Llull - to NY

Jeffries, Gallo, Douglas would be the only players on contract in 2010, making us clearly able to sign two max players

Hill and Gallo would be the building blocks.

Duhon, Al Jr, Darko and Hughes will be playing for their next contract. Let them do it while Hill, Gallo and Douglas develop.

I'd rather have a real 2010 plan than a half-baked one. This team will be downright terrible anyway. I actually think that playing all of the guys with expiring deals will result in the most wins. I've heard rumors of a similar deal. Maybe it will go down.
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

I think your assumption is wrong. Wilson has value and is on a cheap contract and that's why his name comes up.

i think there's a decent shot of dumping Fishlips if the rumors about WAS actually being interested in him are true... Curry i think we'll need to showcase before any team is gonna be willing to take on that contract of his... i would look to pump up his trade value as much as possible & try to unload him for an expiring at the deadline this coming season if i can.

This could be a fun game for the next few years...

How many of Isiah's players have been traded for each other so far?

- Tim Thomas for Randolph
- Randolph for Q

Is that all so far?

To be honest I don't think any of these players are really in the Knicks plans. When 2010 rolls around Walsh will be in his 3rd year and people are going to want to see results. I think the Knicks will keep on making trades until they are able to get 2 star players in the Big Apple.
