We should all just welcome our newest Knick.

Had we not drafted Gallo, there wouldnt have been so much scrutiny over the pick. Knick fans have the right to be skeptical.

But he hasnt been bashed all that hard. Several mediums gave Hill and the Knicks high scores for the draft. Hill will have his time to show and prove, so there is no need to trip.

Gallo is a great pick and will be a cornerstone of our championship squads of the mid and late 2010s. The reason there is so much scrutiny is because there is always scrutiny and lots of 'booos' no matter who we pick; it's the nature of the Knicks experience.

Jordan Hill is a top 5 pick which we got at 8. I never really foresaw a scenario where he would be available at our pick.

I'm (now) happy with the Jordan Hill pick. Like many others I didn't see him as an option at 8 and so really had to look at his resume. I can't believe the athlete he is at his size and how great his build is. As he fills out (And he clearly has the frame to do so) he is going to be a problem. That won't happen this year, but I still see him contributing with his defense and hustle. Not sure how his BBIQ is. It looks like it's going to take him some time. It's amazing he's only been playing ball for like 4 years or so. That is the type of player you take a chance on, as he hasn't realized his potential but shows the ability to get better and has at least some of the skills (most notably motor and heart) to do so...

The thing I'm pissed at is that Walsh passed on 5 when he had the chance. There was too much talent to do that considering we are trying to put a team together for Lebron (apparently) and we could have had another useful piece. We could have used DLee or Nate to help pick up a SG imo... We'll see though...

We should have drafted Lopez instead of Gallo, and to be honest we should have traded something to get that 5 pick and we should have went with DeRoazan at 8. The starting lineup could have looked something like this.

Pg Rubio or Curry/Duhon
Sg Demar/ Hughes
Sf Chandler/Harrington
Pf Lee/Harrington/Darko
C Lopez//Darko/Curry

While this team will need years to be truly competative, we would have a really young roster that isnt too expensive, who knows maybe in 2010 we could snatch up Bosh, Nash (backup pg) or whoever else to fill out the bench.

This being said we really cant dwell on the past and now that we have this man, we might as well not be like the suckers at the Garden booing him and see what he can bring to the table.

Hill plays defense, he finishes and he's a great rebounder. He can run like a deer and blocks some shots. He's 6'10 and is super athletic. He will be able to have an impact.

In April Hill was in the top 4 picks of every mock draft. Every one. The only reason he slid to 8 was because of how teams became enamored with some of the guards after workouts.

I think Hill was a very good pick. I do think the Gallo pick was a huge mistake, a reach, and a risk that didn't need to be taken with the talent available in that draft.

Gallinari was a risky pick. I hope it pans out for us, but I can see your point of view. I still think he has tremendous upside. I really want to see him in game shape before I really make any judgments.

1. don't judge gallo on an injury-filled season

2. keep in mind that prior to the 08 draft people were dubious about randolph (skinny and flakey - like daye this year); lopez (mechanical and unathletic); gordon (short gunner).

Hill was a solid pick as he has all of the tools you want and still has upside, due to his relative newness to BB. What's not to like about an athletic and long big with skills?

Gallo is a great pick IMO. The guy is tailor made for MDA. He also has excellent size and agility and pro skills. His shot is pure and anytime you get a guy his size that can handle the rock like a guard, but can shoot from anywhere, you have a guy that can be a star in this league. Bigs will be too slow and smalls won't be able to stop his shot. Also I like that Gallo plays D. Imagine what he'll be able to do when he's not in pain all the time.

That's it in a nutshell....everyone was ****tin on Johnny Flynn until about a month or so ago. He was stuck in the 20's around the time Jordan hill was at #2-4....

Regardless of what these experts think...if you are a basketball junkie and watch college basketball then you know how good Jordan Hill is. He's good but I didn't realize he had a turn around jumper...haters will be pleasantly suprised when he makes you forget about David Lee.
