Kinda pathetic....

Duhon/Toney Douglas
Wilson/Hughes

We forget about Joe Crawford but he's still on the roster...

Anyway...King1 always talks about Lee and his double double...but what about the offense that Nate brought. Nate carried the Knicks for a decent chunk of the season averaging 30pts.

I dunno who the Knicks can improve unless they sign or trade for a proven nba point guard. Duhon is not the answer.

They definitely need some guards. Douglas helps, but it would've been nice to land a Wayne Ellington there. I think they need more shooting out of their guards and certainly they need a PG.

I wonder if Steve Nash and the Knicks ends up being a realistic possibility.

I hate Duhon so much guys...it makes me wanna stomp on kittens when I hear people say he got burned out after only a quarter of the season.

Wilson isn't even a shooting guard but he plays one on TV. I like Hughes still...he could be very good off the bench playing point and shooting guard.

Maybe the Knicks need a Nash or Kidd....they definately need an experienced lead guy. That would solidify the talent back there imho. Cuttino and Duhon's contracts should hold the key to that equation.

Will Conroy would be a cheap pickup to backup Duhon.
lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

What's with the Duhon hate? He had us in the playoff hunt until he got burned out. Quality player.

Duhon was a tryout, a 2 year audition. I don't see him being retained beyond next season unless he takes a pay cut and becomes our backup point guard. He showed his limitations early and often and then showed it was impossible for him to keep up with the demands of this offense and it's pace.

To me he's out the door.

It's interesting for when we signed him I trashed it because I felt he was a terrible player. He came in and played very well so I changed my mind. Not too far into 2009 he turned right back into that terrible player so I hate him again. I want him gone he is not a starting PG he couldn't even be a legit starter on a 30 win team. Pathetic.

Let us face reality with Duhon: He stinks.

Why is it ok to say that??? Burned out? He is a professional player...starting point guards usually play big minutes. if the dude can only produce for a quarter of a season and then completely suck beyond belief for more than half the season....he is either trash or needs to play 14 mins off the bench....

Regardless, Knicks need a player to start over him...Period. I'd take just about anybody over Duhon.

Forget Joe Crawford. Invite AD Vassallo or KC Rivers to summer league immediately before someone else does. You got 2 legit 2-guards with size right there. Marcus Williams is a nice PG option as well for summer league if he's available (not sure if he's going back to the Spurs)..

Look for NY to revisit that Tracy McGrady scenario for Larry Hughues and the expiring contract of Cuttino

What's wrong with our guard situation? Duhon and Douglas sounds solid to me. Both defend and I think most of Duhon's problems were due to fatigue and then injury. You can't bash him cuz he got overused. Douglas is a very good defender and a bigtime scorer. He needs to improve as a passer but realize that he was asked to call his own number at FSU.

Hughes is not that bad IMO. He'll do for now. I think we're in better shape now than at the start of last year at guard.

he did get burned out... his drop in production in the latter half of the season clearly shows this.

I'm not gonna give Duhon a free pass for playing like crap down the stretch, but the reality of the situation is his play declined once he developed a bad back, but he never got to rest it because we had no point guards on the roster behind him. He still isn't that good, but you can sort of get by with him. That said the Knicks shouldn't be thinking about keeping him past this year and if he does play well again he should be parlayed into some value before the trade deadline.

Yea man, if anything he deserves praise for battling through a bad back and not giving up on the club. I would like to see him with us in some capacity even after this deal runs out.

I don't mind Duhon at all but sure hope he gets Rafer Alston'ed for a late first round pick in 2010.

The main problem I have with the Knicks backcourt is for two years straight the Knicks did not really address this problem through the draft. The Knicks could have drafted Eric Gordon last year and Jennings this year. Or Gordon last year and DeRozan or Williams this year.

So our backcourt could have been
Eric Gordon/Derozan
or
Jennings/Gordon
Gordon/Williams

In 2010 the Knicks will be looking for a star player however, the Knicks still have to address the backcourt situation and to fix that it will not come cheap.

Unfortunately for us we have a lot of needs and it will take a few years to address all of them. We have at least 1 year if not 2 of building and young player development before we determine which rookies we should have drafted.
I just hope that people will like me

I think Atlanta is going to pass on resigning Bibby, so that might end up being a good destination for him.
