Seems like the GS trade is not going down? So then moving Amare would be a priority for PHX now that the cat is officially out of the bag.

i think Hill, Nate & Mobley's contract would appeal to the Suns for Amare.

Steve Kerr is a moron but I doubt he's going to send his best player to the team coached by the guy he fired last year.

he wasn't fired, he was allowed to speak w/other teams that were interested in hiring him & he chose to sign w/the Knicks... Kerr actually wanted him to return as their head coach.

WAIT! You just said in the thread on Nash that we would have to offer Lee & Nate for Nash. Now you have us sending Nate & an unknown, unproven draft pick for Amare who is basically in the prime of his career?

I dont know how big a deal teh detached retina is. I have a friend who underwent surgery for this and went on with lfe as usual. Granted he wasn't in sports but bball deosn't put special strain on the eyes etc, amare should be OK.

I think Amare said he would be wearing goggles (a la Horace Grant) for the forseeable future.

Yep...and the knees....and the max contract desires. His laundry list is a little long and unsettling.

One thing we can't afford is another McDyess or Houston on our hands post 2010. If it happens - we're done right there - and I don't like the prospect of that ONE BIT. Imagine if we got Grant Hill'ed? Man ohhhh man....

If that happens to us again, I will stop being a fan of the Knicks. I can't go through another disaster. I'm sorry.

Amare is nowhere near the top of the list of guys I want on the Knicks. Pass.

+1.

The Knicks need guys who are on the rise, not on their way down.

Only way you try to acquire a guy like Amare is if you're a piece or 2 away from contending.

Well I read articles more than watch the games these days... last year I probably watched a quarter and the year before I watched zero. There will always be injury risk but I would prefer to stay away from the guys with "microfracture" and "detached retina" on their medical CV

actually i think the Hill, Nate & Mobley contract offer is more valuable than a Lee & Nate offer... if u read that thread u'd have seen i said Lee & Nate's values are extremely diminished now that they're both RFA's... the time to trade them was last year before the trade deadline... we passed that opportunity by & now Donnie's gonna be handcuffed when trying to deal those 2 cuz every team out there knows we really have no intention of re-signing those guys to lucrative longterm deals & holding onto them.
