They count for a total of 18mm into the knicks salary and if we don't trade them by trading deadline of 2010, we'll end up signing only one player during the free-agent signing.

We want to see the knicks sign 2 players in 7/2010

Will Walsh work his magic and get rid of Curry and Jeffries before feb 2010??

Thats the good question?

Eddy Curry will never be traded. It is more likely he's dealt when he is an expiring contract so we're stuck with him.

There is a small chance that Jeffries gets traded but I just don't see it.

I don't know how Walsh is going to re-sign Lee and/or Nate with those 2 guys on the roster for 2010. He better have a good f'ing plan.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

this will not be done until the trade deadline this year at the earliest, if it happens at all... teams first need to see Curry become a productive player again before he becomes tradeable... we will have to showcase him to start the season & hope he shows something... if Donnie manages to dump those 2 contracts i will never question any moves he makes ever again.

what if we're able to get Rubio? Will he count as part of the '2' superstars?

You know what might happened. If someone starting center goes down, then that team would probably pursue Curry, only if Curry plays decent next yr. We are talking about 10mm to rid ourselves.

It's more than Curry and Jeffries, check the article I posted earlier.

The Wizards need more big men. They're not in the 2010 hunt.

We need a point guard with an ending deal.

Jeffreis for Mike James makes a lot of sense.

Then the knicks only have to dump Eddy.

Eddy will get all of Jared's minutes and split time with Darko.

By next deadline he will have some value... and we will have to hope we find a taker.

Maybe a desperate CAVS team after Shaq gets injured.

Keep hope alive!
lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

No - I'm not kidding. It doesn't matter where we get a super star from - if its the draft, great.

Will Rubio become a superstar? Who knows, but I know he has a better chance to than anyone else on our crap-roster.

It is growing more apparent that chances are we will only be able to maneuver for 1 superstar. That means the supporting star cast will have to come from within. Seeing we don't have a 2010 pick, and we're unsure about Gallo and Hill and how good they would be, and the fact that we will be improved 2010/2011 and probably have a mid-teens 2011 draft choice.... we have more work to do on this Jeffries/Curry front AND the fact that Lee/Nate being retained might not be worth it. The other thread I posted has an in depth article about everything against our cap in 2010 and what re-signing Lee/Nate could potentially do to it - even bringing us out of contention for even 1 max FA.

We should have dumped Nate with Jeffries on the Kings. For those who are skeptical yes the deal was on the table the NBA even granted us a 15 minute grace period on the 3:00pm deadline because we had ongoing talks to try to hammer out a trade. It fell through. Probably not a good thing now looking at all of this.

That would have been a very hard deal for Walsh to sell, and probably swallow himself.

At the time, I didn't think it was a good deal, but in retrospect, might not have been the worse thing.

However, I still tend to think 2010 is going to come and we're not going to be able to add a marquee name.

And if Walsh settles for a Joe Johnson or Bosh, then we're looking at another five years of mediocrity.

A lot hinges on Gallo paying off and Hill turning into something better than most (except MDA) expect!

Like many of you have said, Jeffries will probably get traded for Mike James. As for Curry, once he plays regularly and performs ok, he'll go to Sacremento for myabe Kenny Thomas who comes off the books.

Chandler and Gallo both have team options so the knicks do not have to pick up their options.

Only players in the roster if not traded are Douglas and Hill.

I would definately do that in a heartbeat...Mike James is a solid player. He's a scorer but he is a good locker room guy, fast, and he plays good defense....better than Duhon all day everyday!!!

not to mention the guy gives a great interview...
