Only two weeks away. This is where the action may begin for us. Hopefully we can snag a PG (Rubio?)

BTW, Milwaukee has Jennings now and there was plenty of rumor before the draft that if they select a PG they won't match on Sessions. I haven't seen him play but notice he does well in the assist department and is young.

It's really doubtful we keep both Nate and Lee, clearly. Having Douglas now makes Nate expendable. I think Douglas will see time at backup PG since he played it his last year or two (not prior I read). Perhaps Nate to Sac to get rid of Jeffries.

Whatever happens with Lee and Nate, I think it will be important to turn them into either a decent player who can play right now or future draft picks.

I don't believe Rubio is coming to NY so I am not putting a lot of stock in that. I also think Nash will be available so I am not too concerned with the PG position - we need a SG who can play and a real big man.

Jason Kidd is not the best jump shooter either. Look at Sessions numbers when he gets PT. He's a steal at the Mid level money. He's a pass first PG who can rebound score and defend. He 23 years old. Thats when you spend the MLE.

OasisBU, I agree 2X. Unfortunately Minny has Love and what's his name coming back from knee surgery. Doesn't seem likely as a destination for Lee. Nate isn't enough.
Perhaps Bayless is an option.

unstopaball12 -good point, we really need a pg who can shoot (But is he any worse than Rubio at this point?).igg

edit
Briggs - I se your point but in this offense don't you think a pg who can shoot (eventually) is needed (hence why we liked Curry.) (Rubio's young age left room for improvement.)

Sessions is very young and he shoots 80% from the FT line. He can shoot the mid range--we dont need everyone shooting the 3. He's proven as well.

Sessions to New York?

New postby LukePliska on Fri Jun 26, 2009 1:08 pm
According to 1250 (Which I was listening to this morning) Ramon Sessions and D'Antoni somehow have a relationship with each other. This has lead people to believe that the Knicks, who wanted to draft a PG yesterday but instead went with Jordan Hill, are going to offer Ramon a contract that the Bucks "will not be able to match". Personally I think Ramon would probably fit very well in New Yorks system, especially if the King ends up there.

So I have two questions:

1. How much do you think the Bucks (not you) will match up to for Ramon?
2. If we lose Ramon, who should we target with MLE type money for our roster?

Well that is interesting. We just drafted and traded foir 3 6-10+ guys--we need a guy who can penetrate and get the ball to these guys. I think all 3 of them can be better with a solid pass first PG and that is what Sessions is---also he can defend rebound score and hes 6-3 and 22-23 years old--really a perfect fit.

i don't buy this. a contract milwaukee can't match??? BS. we can only offer the MLE. this reeks of BS to me. i think it'd be easier to get Rubio than Sessions at this point. and we're not getting Rubio.
