Al Harrington seems to be an after thought but he is a 20/6 player...he's a very good scorer and able defender. He needs to be second fiddle somewhere. A team like San Antoni could use him but they went out and got RJ...So who out there could use Al Harrington??? In my opinion he has to be flipped cuz of the emergance of Wilson Chandler and the presence of Gallo.

Cuttino Mobley's instant dump contract...huge asset imho.

Larry Hughes contract...Knicks might do well if they just keep him cuz he'll play and probably play well for the Knicks...at least for the year. His contract takes up the most cap.

Duhon...face it he's a bum. With Toney douglas Knicks can afford to trade duhon as long as they can get a true starting point guard some how.

Who should we target??? Who is available??? Are they worth it??? Do they get the Knicks to the playoffs??? Will it effect 2010???

Next Move - see thread on Rubio.

I think Walsh & Kahn work out a S&T deal - Lee and or Nate - not sure what else. And from Minny comes Rubio & possibly Al Jefferson or just other filler like Cardinal & Thomas.

Then your line up is

Duhon / Rubio
Chandler / Hughes
Gallo / Harrington
Hill
Darko / Curry

And in 2010 we add Lebron

Finestrg made a point in another thread about the whole s&t thing with David and Nate...maybe they go for expiring contracts. Brian Cardinal, Etan, Madsen, and Craig Smith fit that bill in minnesota...what are those ratards thinking over there anyway??? They seem to want to crown Love their franchise and gave up on a 23/11 guy already. Al is a BYC player so that complicates things...

Knicks could just stand pat but i think making the playoff are important this year cuz of the unprotected pick we owe the Jazz...smh

I was surprised we didn't hear a peep about McGrady last night.
I could see Al packaged in a deal with Houston once we get closer to the season. Al and Mobley for TMac?

Sign and trade either DLee or Nate. Throw in Mobley's contract and perhaps we can get Rubio?

Keep Duhon. He is our point guard and he played fine for most of the year. He was way overused (min/game) and was hurt (bad back).
For a pass-first point guard, he shoots very well. He led the team in 3pt% and FT% (that is, of the regulars)
39.1% from the 3PT
85.7% FT.

We especially need the 3 pt shooters for D'A transition game.

i like duhon, but he is utterly alone in the backcourt. rubio isn't coming here.

we need more backcourt help, somehow. it'd be nice to get a REAL player for nate or lee, but i doubt we do.

I think the sign and trade talks with Nate and Lee are wishful thinking.. would Lee/Nate really want to play in Minny? Why wouldn't they just go somewhere else if they knew the Knicks didn't want them?

We're still going to look for that PG

Hope to resolve the Nate /Lee Fiasco= pretty much they're gone..

Look to unload Eddie Curry by mid season.

the only trade targets for the Knicks right now should be either Ricky Rubio or Stephen Curry... they shouldn't be looking to add any longterm salaried veteran with a big bucks contract unless we're talking about an elite player, which we don't have the assets to obtain anyway (unless Chris Bosh is on his way here via trade, which i don't see happening at this point)

otherwise u just look to get whatever expirings & picks in 2010 u can get for Lee & Nate, cuz neither of them seem to be in the plans for next season & Donnie is not going to add any big salary to this payroll until 2010 rolls around.

Wishful think if they want to get 6 year deals. Then, yea, they can go wherever they want except Walsh can just match their butts back to NYC & then ship them off anyway to Minny in December.

While not a true PG, I'll bet Monta Ellis is going to be shopped around. With his contract, I'd think Curry (a beefy big man that type that they need) would have to be included in any trade. Just thinking out loud, but I wonder if N8 and Curry and possibly Mobley would be the start of talks that could include Ellis and possibly Brandon Wright??
