Raps got a great value at #9 w/Derozan... IMO he's easily 1 of the top 3 prospects in this draft class... i think MIN also made out great by getting Rubio at 5... my hope is they'll end up trading him to the Knicks, in which case i would grade the Knicks at the top in terms of winners in this draft.

IMO the biggest losers were Oklahoma City... taking James Harden at #3 when they could have taken Rubio & been in a great bargaining position w/teams like NY & MIN was completely moronic & shortsighted.
After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.

i think the grizz lost at 2. i just have the feeling that thabeet will be a bust, but i can't exactly say why. he's a little raw, no?

and i don't now what minnesota will end up doing with rubio/flynn, but it seems like a mess. maybe rubio was picked with the intention of waiting, if need be, while flynn can come in and contribute right away. this way, even if rubio stays in europe for a little longer, they have a pg and have much to gain when rubio does start contributing.

if they intended to trade him to the knicks, curry would have been a wiser choice for that-- and i think the wolves were aware of that.

I agree - if we come out of this with Hill & Rubio & end up S&T Lee, then I think you'd have to give the Knicks & Walsh an A+ because they got younger, got a potential star, and still have things lined up for 2010.

I think for a very weak draft the Knicks did very good. Hill was slated in the top 3 in most every mock draft all year until many of these teams became enamored with a lot of the guards that pushed him back.

Toney Douglas is essentially Marcus Banks that can score. We really needed anyone on the perimeter who would go after guys and we got one known for playing intense defense.

Based on what was out there I think the Knicks did pretty good for themselves and address their two biggest needs.

Alot of guards went in the top 20 for a reason, thats where the star talent was in this draft.

I agree with Fishy...

You can't get bent out of shape because the Knicks didn't follow the trend and pick a pg just because....Curry, Flynn, Evans, and Rubio were gone. You can blame the Knicks not getting one on Minnesota's stupid ass team....They basically drafted 5 point guards and traded 2 when they could have gotten players to help their team.

Jordan Hill wasn't just the best player available...he also was the second best power fwd in the draft. And He definately was ranked in the top 3 until everyone got the hard on for the guards.

Guys wanted size and defense? Well the Knicks brought in 2 guys that will block shots and have a presence on both ends....Toney Douglas used to destroy your favorite player in the ACC...that's not an opinion...thats a fact....and he locked them down on defense....thats not an opinion...that also is a fact since he got defensive player of the year. Watch both of them become your favorite Knick during the summer league...Word!!

I like what the Knicks did alot. I am not sure about Douglas but the Hill pick minimally was solid and has the potential to be great. I think the Spurs stealing Blair was huge. Holiday at 17 could be a steal but he maybe a bust.

The Warriors will find a way to foul that up, as they have with every other notable draft pick since the 90s and probably before that.

We wont know for several years who the real winners and losers are but based upon the post NCAA tourney and not he pre draft hype and shifts you have to give a nod to the The Clips, Minn, Memphis and the Knicks. The Clips because of the only "can't miss" prospect in the draft,Minn because they got a solid guard and tremendous bargaining chip and the Knicks, Memphis because I think Thabeet will be a starting center for a decade or more. Finally (this is a Knx fan forum) the knx came away with two picks with higer rankings than the positions in which they were drafted. I will not conjecture how good either will be but one was considered the 2nd most complete big man in the draft and another a couiple of inches short of being a lotto pick who can score and play 'D" on the perimeter-how long has it been since the knicks played perimeter D?

They drop Crawford because they have too many guards and then go and select Curry. LMFAO at Don Nelson. This guy showed in is final years in Dallas that he was losing touch with reality. He's gone completely insane in Oakland.

How many insane mistakes, big contract mistakes, multiple log jam at player position mistakes, can one team make in about 3 years time!? It's amazing. They are also notorious for grabbing a player then hating him about a week later and wanting him gone. What's up with that!?

Jackson...Maggette...Crawford..Baron.. Troy Murhpy and Mike Dunleavy. The list is long and very recent of players they invested big in and then immediately regret doing so.

LOL?
