according to fran fraschilla - espn's overseas basketball analysis, in baseball terms:

ncaa = AA
rubio's league = AAA
nba = pro level

I saw that too. Fraschilla is pretty good with this overseas analysis too. It's impossible for me to say what the competition level is like overseas since I've never seen a game. Interesting though.

He's going to be way gone IMO so its moot

I don't know if I agree with that hierarchy. If that was the case, we would be following European ball year-round instead of NCAA.

The truth is somewhere in the middle, and one needs to consider the fundamental differences between the Continental game and the American game.

I am not sure that you can even compare the two leagues.

I hope you're right, bro! I, too, have faith in these curtained forces-- Donnie Walsh is a wizard and he will come through with some SHOCKERS, MARK MY WORDS, SHOCKERS, SHOCKERS OF DEALS!

Demographics my friend. Kinda like minor league baseball. I follow the local Minor League A team and not the AAA league in the south.

this was brought up a lot last year when some of us were arguing why Gallo wasn't such a bad pick at #6... the level of competition in the Euro Leagues is pretty high from a team basketball perspective... maybe not as many future studs over there competing but they can play w/the best the NCAA has to offer... they proved that in the Olympics before the Dream Team ever existed & then a few years after, this is nothing new.
