I don't necessarily disagree with you, but I do think Darko has more to offer than he's shown and just playing in this system is sure to raise his offensive numbers. He's already a solid rebounder and shotblocker too so I can only see those going up.

I think 12/8/2 is a good expectation level, but I do think he can do better.

Can we wait and see the trade actually go through first?

Darko is the most overhyped player to enter the Draft in the last 5-7 years. I am not the least bit happy about getting him.

Bingo

How many times have we acquired Darko already? This poll makes no sense if the trade doesn't happen, and Craw looks closer to Atlanta than Darko to NY.

When was he hyped???? I know he and all big-men are overvalued in the draft, but when was he hyped?? I think it was just a really bad draft for Joe Dumars.

When Chad Ford said that Darko has an opportunity to be better than Lebron James because of his skillset. I would say it was just a Chad thing but the fool actually convince others to believe in the same garbage. The same way he hyped up Lampe in the same draft, remember NBADRAFT.NET and DRAFTEXPRESS had Lampe right behind Melo.

Lampe turned out to be a good player... he just wasnt ready at 18 years old. His team just won a title and he was the MVP. He's one of the best bigs in Europe right now and I would take him for the MLE and let Lee walk right now

Of course you need to see some production, but to me it's not necessarily strictly about #s - I'd base my opinion on good solid 2-way play at the center spot. If this went down, I'd love for us to suddenly be in a position where we're saying, "man, do we re-up this guy? He played pretty well for us," rather than just sending him on his way after the year. At the very least the trade'll be a wash because Q's done..

Darko is very servicable but the only question is the role as a starter or backup. When he backed up Howard in limited minutes he looked good. When got too many minutes not so much. My question is what happen to that outside shooting that they said he had pre-draft and his great footwork. I don't get how guys pre-draft info disappears after they are drafted. Jeffries post game and outside shooting is another example of faulty readings.

We will see if he is a starter or back up. But considering that he has been a starter in the past and that we have NO shotblocking whatsoever, I say let him start and set the tone in the paint.

I know that Chris Dudley averaged something like 6/8/2 in his best years, and he was a serviceable big guy for his teams....Darko will likely score more, because he's so finesse, rebound just as much or better, and he is young so he will block more shots than Dudley.

WE AIN'T NOWHERE WITH THIS BUM CHOKER IN CARMELO. GIVE ME STARKS'S 2-21 ANY DAY OVER THIS LACKLUSTER CLUSTEREFF.

We haven't had anyone block 2 shots per game in like, a decade. So yea, that's awesome.

Why are you over exaggerating??? What about Marvin Williams???

Get over the fact Detroit passed on Melo, Wade and Bosh....

Darko is a compeditor obviously with that explicit interview he did after a tough game in European. He can shoot...he's 7'...he is a bonified shot blocker and is a respectable rebounder. Add to the list that he's been hurt. The basketball gods forgive the Knicks fans for being bitches...Darko will breakout as Knick. I can give you a reason other that I can feel it in my balls...who wants to feel my balls?
