Need some opinions on 2010. I feel no matter who we get in this year draft we won't get a promising star and will be high up the draft again and Utah will be licking their chops on it.

Here's an opinion:

Donnie Walsh will pull of some really surprising moves between today and 2010. No one on the planet can predict what will happen or who we will have. But I am confident that he knows what he's doing and we will be in position to contend in 2010, superstar or not.

Who cares about Utah and that pick? We traded it six years ago.

We care about us. We would be IDIOTS to try to make trades to make us mediocre enough this year to try to make the Utah pick worse. That would be insane.

We worry about us.

What are we doing this season? Continuing to tear down the remains of Isiah's mess. That's it.

We will begin to properly build our new team next summer.

Unless some impossible to pass up deal comes along we are not going to deviate from that basic plan, a plan which somehow someway some still don't seem to understand.

We're not trying to improve THIS current roster. It's a failed mess thanks to Isiah. We're looking to shed more salary and move the remaining problem players so we can set ourselves up with a nice clean slate this time next year.

Nothing more....

^But at the same time, if the opportunity presents itself, I doubt anyone in the organization would be against putting together a contender outside of the 2010 framework.

I see us taking on a lot of salary this offseason and buying at the trade deadline... season ticket subscriptions are probably going down across the board and no one likes to lose a UFA for nothing... especially when we could add enough salary to still add one UFA next summer

My opinion is Wilson Chandler is better than anyone except Rubio and Curry and we should only trade him for a situation where we have a chance (take risk) to substantially improve.

Minny having 4 picks in the worst draft in years is stupid unless they really nail it, and that jury will take a few years to see.

If Walsh is not thrilled with what is at the 8 then trade the pick.

Can't confuse change with improvement and somtimes your better off with what you got.

MInny has to make a splash in its market and sell a young fresh image.

I do think as we sit today there are changes coming to our knicks but walsh is gonna be a cool dude and not panic.

This team will win 38 games next year and be more competitive with a late playoff run.

I agree with this. It's going to be painful to see Utah get our pick(especially if it's high) but we can't worry about that. It's over and done with. We need to worry about our current situation. If we stink another year and they get a high pick it's just another reason to hate Isiah, but it really should not(and will not) affect the moves that we make.
I just hope that people will like me

great points Cosmic, I agree totally. One more year hopefully and we will turn the page on one of the darkest era's in Knick's basketball. No time to look back now.
