I'm sure this issue has been discussed ad nauseum on here, but since I'm new and don't want to search the whole board, I thought I would post this story from today's Salt Lake Tribune. To be honest, I had completely forgotten about the details of this trade effecting next year's draft for us.

We're all well aware. Thanks for reminding us.

This was after Isiah traded Keith Van Horn for Tim Thomas, wasn't it?

Didn't mean to bring up a sore subject, but I saw that article posted on another site where the point of someone posting it was to talk about Wall being the #1 prospect next year (I'm a big UK fan) and opened it only to find that it was primarily making fun of the Knicks and Isaiah. I almost reacted like the kid in the video posted above.

You do realize that Isiah is still pulling the strings, right? The Knicks organization knew that fans had developed an irrational hatred for Isiah, but they also knew that Isiah was the man who'd led the Knicks from the darkest hours of Layden & Eisley. So they came up with a plan: Bring in Donnie as a figurehead, but keep Isiah around, making decisions behind the scenes.

Then they brilliantly allowed Isiah to become the head basketball coach at Florida International University, a position which clearly does not require even a tenth of Isiah's attention. This has total silenced the irrational Isiah-haters and left him free to execute more of his brilliant GM moves without being subject to additional unfair public vilification.

So, to summarize, Isiah is running the show from Florida. Donnie Walsh is a figurehead. D'Antoni is just an interim coach as Isiah prepares to execute the final moves of his rebuild plan. On draft night, he will package the pick with David Lee's contract and bring Marbury back, as he is still the best point guard for this team, and resume the temporarily interrupted process of building this team around Eddy Curry.

In 2010, Isiah will return triumphant, and lead the team to a championship! That is the real 2010 plan.
