If Minnesota is looking to make a stupid trade like that, Donnie should call them and see what he could get them to do.

Amare's a little better than Al IMO but the 6th pick makes it a lopsided trade favoring Phoenix. The trade without the pick would be more reasonable since Phoenix is getting desperate and since they'd be getting the younger player who supposedly has a better attitude.

Al Jefferson would mean they would have to change the offense also. He can't do the run & gun they want to run??? Isn't that part of the reason for getting rid of Shaq? This is just horrible.

Maybe they'll trade Nash, J-Rich, and Shaq and start over with Al, Barbosa, and the #6 pick and whatever else they get in their trades. It would be smarter than hanging to their players too long like Detroit did.

Dallas also should be looking for a refresh.

That's what they should be thinking about - trade the older veterans that still have some value and get younger players, picks and cap space to rebuild.

Al Jefferson and the #6 pick??? Al Jefferson puts up empty stats. For a young post player, it seems like teams are quick to jettison him.

What in the hell is Amare going to do in Minnesota?

At the same time, they're not that far from contending. A big shot-blocker like Chris Anderson could really help. I'm not certain tearing it down is the right decision but since Amare, Shaq, and Nash may soon leave anyway, it probably is.

The next question is: Why would Minnesota even do this, knowing full well Amare could bolt next season to play for a big market, like the Knicks, or possibly even Detroit or any of those teams. Minny wouldn't have a chance to compete. You'd lose Al Jefferson for a 1 year rental, along with your pick? I would never do this if I were Minnesota.

If the Suns are looking to part ways with Amare, and even looking to trade Shaq, this is an absolute steal for them. This trade should be vetoed if it goes through. It's almost as bad as Kwame for Gasol.
